Workaround for a fried airport card in my 2009 MBP

I think I just fried the airport card in the MBP, as the wifi pulled down menu shows a 'no hardware installed' message.
Is there anywhere I can the wireless card replaced?
If it can't be replaced, any workaround like a USB wireless card or something, short of buying a new laptop?

[Q] Upgrade MBP 13" (2009) or buy a new rMBP?

Hi everyone, I am thinking of either upgrading my old Mid 2009 13" MBP or selling it and get a new/refurbished one.
If I want to upgrade, I'm looking to upgrade it to 8GB Ram, replace the battery to a new original one and (maybe) change it to 256 flash drive.
Question about the upgrade is:
1. How much would it cost?
2. Will it be significantly faster/better?
3. Will it last for at least another 4 years?
4. Is it better to get a new/refurbished rMBP?
5. If I upgrade to a SSD/dual drive, and do I need to buy OSX to install into the new SSD?<

I'm looking to enquire about the resale of this MacBook Pro model.
Here are the technical sepcs:

Graphic Card: NVIDIA GeForce 9400M 256 MB
Memory: 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3
HDD: Hitachi HTS545016B9SA02 Media 160GB

Hoping to get a trade in for a (cheaper and upgraded alternative) Refurbished 13.3-inch MacBook Pro 2.5GHz Dual-core Intel Core i5 with Retina Display, 8gb Ram, 256 Flash Storage.
