Connecting 2012 Imac with 2009 Imac as external monitor?

i been searching all over the
internet but couldnt get a firm answer.
I have a 2009 Imac which
doesnt have a thunderbolt port. Only a Minidisplay.
I am
planning to get the new imac and wish to use the 2009 imac as an
external monitor. How can i do so? do i need an adapter? where to
buy?
