Hi, Im thinking about working as a front end developer in New York,
but I have absolutely no idea what an appropriate salary is there. Is
there anyone who works in the New York web-industry here who can tell
me this?
On Indeed it says the average salary is $89,000, is that
realistic? I could hardly believe it.
I have 5 years of
agencyexperience and am currently employed by one of the best/largest
webagencies in The Netherlands.

Other relevant skills are a few years of

confident enough yet to say I know it with a straight face.
So
far Ive had a few interviews but whenever the JavaScript question
comes up Im always up front and say that I understand JavaScript code

So, I have been mostly a
hobbyist/freelance web developer for about 6 years, mostly working on
a small doctors office website as well as my own projects. My
experience is primarily around procedural (not oo) PHP,
JavaScript/jQuery, CSS3, etc. Im very comfortable working with my own
code, but it tends to be somewhat disorganized due to the fact that I
have never worked on a team, not having to show it to anyone.
I
recently decided to pursue this work as a full time career. I
recognize that my lack of experience actually working on a team could
