Other Help with Javascript button count

Hello people
I am trying to do a button count that is very much
like this:
http://jsfiddle.net/7rTXD/
Im looking it to be in
JavaScript only and not JQuery. No html either. Just 100% JavaScript.
The idea is to limit the amount of clicks so that it wont go over 6
nor under 0. I have 6 images connected to a button and for each click
I want the image to move to the next one. When I reach the last image
the button can continue to be clicked which pushes them further away.
So I want it to be limited to 6 as the max and then disable that
button when it reaches the maxed number of clicks.
It would be
click the right button once, and it leaves 5 mo
My question is in three parts:
(1) Ive found various scripts
which allow you to count-up from a particular date, but they display
the result in seconds, hours, minutes, years etc. Id like to show the
result in just years and dont need a bloated script.
A couple of
scripts that Ive found are:

http://javascript.internet.com/clocks/days-old.html

http://www.javascriptkit.com/script/.../countup.shtml
(2) The
reason I need a count-up feature is so that I can show how old a film
festival is on my movie site (e.g. "the 52nd Sydney Film
Festival"). Is there a way of incorporating the "nd",
"th" etc. to t

Javascript
is it possible to have like a number amount just constantly going up
like every second by dollar amounts?
Javascript
Im trying to fade an image out then back in, which requires counting
down then up. Unfortunately I dont know how to do this in an
asyncronous language like javascript.
How can my script detect
that its reached the end of the fade (i.e. the countdown) and then
start counting back up?
Heres a stripped down version of what Im
trying to do:
class="bbcode_description">Code:
class="bbcode_code">setTimeout("fade()", 1000);
var
opacity = 100;
function fade() {

  if
(opacity > 0) {
