Localhost !

Hi..I am new and beginner in programming. I try to display live data
at localhost by http://localhost/alimtest/ but it show this error. />Server error!
The server encountered an internal error and was
unable to complete your request. Either the server is overloaded or
there was an error in a CGI script.
If you think this is a server
error, please contact the webmaster.

I put my
alimtest folder that consist of php codes in htdocs. My localhost
running well therefore in order to display the data, do I need to
configure anything?
#Please do help me.
I have a working MAMP installation on my mac, with a few virtualhosts.
With a default install you have to approach the webserver with
http://localhost:8888/ However, I wanted to change that to
http://localhost/. So getting rid of the 8888. Now, changing that is
easy with MAMP's control panel. After changing it and restarting
Apache I can approach localhost/ and get the correct webpage. However,
all links coded as <a href="/somedir/">somelink</a> still
point to localhost:888/somedir/. I tried finding some setting in my
httpd.conf but couldn't find anything. Has anyone a clue were I should
look? Thanks.[edit:] I found the solution. I had a base tag pointed to
:8888 somewere ... so

I have made a LAMP server 8.10 and I have a forum app that asks for a
forum admin email for contacting...how can i configure in command line
a mail account , account hosted on another server...
And how
should y reffer to it?...like localhost@"my LAMP server" ,
or like "the mail account name"@"domain".*** and
the app will find it maybe alone...
PS:The first problem is the
most important coz I may find the answers to the other ones by trying
variants...
Thanks!

I have a VirtualBox machine set up and have forwarded the IIS install
on the virtual machine's port 80 to my local port 8080. I need to
forward the hosts 8080 to the host's port 80.
I have set up
iptables to allow this from the external network, http://myexternalip/
works from another computer, but http://localhost/ from the host
computer fails.
How can I get this to work?
VirtualBox:80
-> LocalHost:8080 -> LocalHost:80

Note that depending on how I set the alias_maps flag e.g. from the
default hash:/etc/postix to the optional (see
www.postfix.org/pgsql_table.5.html) alias_maps =
pgsql:/etc/pgsql-aliases.cf, I get different output but still cannot
get past some of the consistent failures related to private/auth or
/var/spool/postfix/private/auth.

Ubuntu

I have downloaded postgress.app as my localhost for postgresql. I
can connect using java through jdbc, but have had problems connecting
through php. When I run the pg_connect(host=localhost, user = xxx,
password = xxx) I receive the error: Is the server running on host
"localhost" (127.0.0.1) and accepting TCP/IP connections on port
5432?

I have researched this problem pretty thoroughly and tried all of
the suggestions:

1) Uncomment and set listen_addresses = '*' in the postgresql.conf
file

2) Add host all all "YOUR-IP-ADDRESS"
md5
to the bottom of the pg_hba.conf

3) Set tcpip_socket = true in postgresql.conf file (Now been
deprecated)

4) Delete the postmaster.pid file — href="http://stackoverflow.com/questions/22772427/psql-could-not-connect-to-server-connection-refused-is-the-server-running-on-h">psql:
could not connect to server: Connection refused Is the server running
on host "localhost" (::1) and accepting TCP/IP connections
on port 5432?

There has been some discrepancy in exactly what to put in for
"YOUR-IP-ADDRESS" but this title="this text appears when you mouse over">article suggests
using ifconfig to check your IP and then using
192.168.0.0/24.

Even if I change the IP address in the pg_hba.conf file, however,
my error still asks if the IP (127.0.0.1) accepts connections.

A last note: I have tried the method of leaving host blank or
setting the host to a socket path and using a unix domain socket, but
that gave me a whole new set of errors which seemed like a bigger
rabbit hole than solving the TCP/IP.

Any help is much appreciated!
