Can't enter SQL commands phpMyAdmin

HOME ยป Databases
Hi,
I'm using Debian(jessie). I created a database(Cars) using
phpMyAdmin's Create database function. I'm following along a book
"The Joy of php". After the table is created the author wants to
create a table (INVENTORY) using SQL commands. Well, phpMyAdmin will
not let me enter any text in the SQL query text area. I created the
table using the Create table function(buttons). If I click on the
INVENTORY table in the left window-pane or the tab above I get the
following error message:
Error
SELECT 'prefs' FROM
'phpmyadmin' . 'pma__table_uiprefs' WHERE 'username' = 'jeff' AND
'db_name' = 'Cars' AND 'table_name' = 'INVENTORY'

I'm looking to have people register times (like 2:34, 2:35.04,
etc.) into my database. Do you use integers values or something else?
Thanks!

Whenever i paste a command into my terminal using the middle click

Ubuntu
Hey there i have this problem with i can't enter my database in lamp
server..
all i know is when i type in
http://localhost/phpmyadmin/ into the url bar in chromium, i got this
error
class="bbcode_description">Code:
Oops!
This link appears to be broken.
what i do to solve this ??
as i need to setup an ajax chat for a website i and i can't when i
can't access my database in localhost :(
Ubuntu

I am running an apache 2.17 at a Fedora 13. I did install
phpmyadmin from the repos (via yum). It is installed in
/usr/share/phpMyAdmin. I did make a symlink from my document root to
the /user/share/phpMyadmin. I set 755 permsissions on that folder, set
it to be owned by user apache and group apache.

And yet, when I try to open rel="nofollow">http://localhost/phpmyadmin, it gives me the 403
error - you do not have permisssion! I tried also commenting some deny
lines in the phpMyAdmin.conf file, no success.

Any help would be gladly appreciated.
