Zone Output

HOME ยป VB & VBnet

I am developing a form that calculates a Business Travel Expense for a business trip. Everything is fine and dandy but I have to display the information in a listbox using zone ouput. There is nothing in my book about zone output...the teacher provided us with this

Dim fmtStr As String = "{0, -18}{1, 10}"

1stResult.Items.Add ( String.Format ( fmtStr, "Price/Book:", FormatCurrency(unitPrice, 2)))

If I understand correctly the first line is simply setting up columns to display the information however I have no idea what the second line is doing and how to implement it into my program to make my output correct.

The output of my program should be:

medianet_width='336'; medianet_height= '280'; medianet_crid='202258688';

In VB.NET How to Convert MST Time Zone value to another Time Zone?
VB & VBnet

I have time values from my db in Mountain Standard Time. I would like to know how to best accurately convert those values into a user's timezone.

I have a function like this(passes in format and a time in MST):

   Dim localZone As TimeZone = TimeZone.CurrentTimeZone
   If localZone Is Nothing Or localZone.StandardName = "Mountain
Standard Time" Then
       Return DateTimeInMST.ToString(format) & " MST"
   Else
       Return (Return Value here in the user's timezone.)

I looked at my signed zone file:

boss.sub.db.archives.net.dlv.isc.org.   3600 IN A
10.103.35.68
...

No wonder it couldn't find the records. But I don't understand why this is happening. I also don't understand how it could be possible to validate a sub network with domain lookaside validation

I did try to validate, pretending the network was a subnetwork of dlv.isc.org, predictably it told be there were no records in the delegate zone.

How am I supposed to do this?

I was following the directions from https://dlv.isc.org/about/using

date time joda api is displaying incorrect zone code for some zone ids
VB & VBnet

I was trying to format date time with formatter yyyy-MM-dd HH:mm z with joda api for id Australia/Yancowinna . My expectation is, it should display 3 letter short code (e.g: IST, GMT, EDT etc) for zone but instead of that it is displaying +10:30. How ever its is displaying correct zone code for most of the other Ids.

Here is my code

package com.rais;

import org.joda.time.DateTime;
import org.joda.time.DateTimeZone;

public class DateClient {

    public static void main(String[] args) {

DateTimeZone.setDefault(DateTimeZone.forID("Australia/Yancowinna"));

        DateTime datetime = new
DateTime("2015-01-13T14:30:00.000+10:30");
        System.out.println("Original time = "+datetime);
        System.out.println("Original time zone =
"+datetime.getZone());
        System.out.println("Original time toString(yyyy-MM-dd HH:mm
z)= "+datetime.toString("yyyy-MM-dd HH:mm z"));

    }
}

And here is output

Original time = 2015-01-13T14:30:00.000+10:30
Original time zone = Australia/Broken_Hill
Original time toString(yyyy-MM-dd HH:mm z)= 2015-01-13 14:30 +10:30

If we work with zone id Asia/Amman, it displaying correct zone code in case of windows but not displaying zone code in case of linux.
