im switching jboss 4.2.2 to 5.0.1 and i have installed jboss. now on client side i replaced existing jar files. jbossall-client.jar,jboss-client.jar,commons-logging.jar,jboss-serialization.jar,jnp-client.jar. but still error came on logging.

could anyone shed some light.

JBoss, exploded jar vs compact jar
Programming Languages

I am working on Java 1.6, JBoss 5.1, EJB 3, and Hibernate 2. Every time I deploy the ear, if the jar is a compact one (non-exploded), application doesn't work. However when I explode the jar and then add it to the ear, the app works fine. Tried restarting Jboss, doesn't help.

The ear refers to numerous external jars; would the order of loading the jars be an issue?
How can I make JBoss load external jars followed by the app jars?

Thx.

How do you create a JAR file for JBoss 4 that uses its own classes before JBoss'?
Programming Languages

I'm using JBoss 4.2.3.GA. How do I structure a JAR file for deployment to JBoss such that JBoss loads the classes in my JAR before its own? Specifically, I'm trying to use a newer version of Hibernate (4.1.5.SP1) over what is pre-installed in JBoss. I tried placing a jboss.xml file in META-INF containing

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
<jboss>
<!-- setup classLoader repository. java2ParentDelegation to always have
package libs override server libs for this application -->
<loader-repository>
org.mainco.subco.dido:loader=myclient

WebSphere 8: el-api.jar (in app) conflicts with javax.j2ee.el.jar (in WS)
Programming Languages

In short: is there a way to tell WebSphere to use classes from the application's own el-api.jar instead of from (the built-in) javax.j2ee.el.jar?

Story:
I know there are discussions on the internet about this problem during migrating applications from WAS 6.1 to WAS 8, but neither of them mentions explicitly this point:

The whole thing gets stuck when WAS 8 tries to load javax.el.ExpressionFactory from el-api.jar (included in the EAR). At this point, however, it has already loaded it from javax.j2ee.el.jar. (Which didn't exist in WAS 6.1.) If you switch on verbose class loading:

class load: javax.el.ExpressionFactory from:

Can't get Jboss server working for J2EE
Programming Languages

HI all,
this is my first post and I'm quite new to java. I've studied abit of J2SE and i'm confortable with it. I've decided to try learn J2EE recently and have bought a book on it. At the risk of sounding stupid i can't get JBOSS to work.
What i have done so far is installed JBOSS and re -installed jdk 1.5.0_06, then created 2 user environment variables 'JAVA_HOME' and 'JBOSS_HOME' each with the pathways to the folders where they are found. I've then put '%JAVA_HOME%in' and 'JBOSS_HOME%in' in the system path variable. right so far i think... the problem arises when in cmd prompt i type '%JBOSS_HOME%in
un -c all' all i get is "
