The funny thing is, my wireless card no longer works. I began
investigating this problem with the following:

I am having a strange problem with my wireless (DHCP). i'm running
ubuntu 9.04 and have a wireless-n atheros card.
when i boot my
computer, it connects automatically to my home's WEP (128-bit
encryption) wireless network. however, when i open firefox, after a
long delay i get the "This page cannot be displayed" page.
also, when i go to System->Administration->Network Tools, and
ping my router (192.168.1.1) or my wireless print server
(192.168.1.10), i get no response. pinging and internet work fine if i
am wired to the print server.
there are two additional problems
that i dont really need fixed right now, but perhaps they are related

Ubuntu
I am having some trouble getting my netbook and my desktop connecting
to the internet on my home wireless router. When I am at school I can
connect to the school's router with no problems. I am guessing that
the two system have the same problem. Both run lucid lynx the netbook
has 32 bit edition and the desktop has 64 bit. I know my wireless
router works because I am able to connect with a windows laptop. Also,
as a note, both of the ubuntu systems recognize the router but are
unable to connect. Thanks in advance.

So I installed 10.4 on a new Toshiba Satellite L645D
When I
connect to my wireless at home, the Network Manager shows that I am
connected but I can't reach any websites via ping or firefox. I also
can't ping my router. I also don't have wired access working at
all.
iwconfig shows connected to correct ESSID
I can ping

can't ping google:

I have a Thinkpad running Linux Mint 17 and my connection is on
wlan0 which is the Intel Wi-Fi interface.

Several days ago I was connected to the Wi-Fi router at home and
everything worked like a charm. Then I closed my Thinkpad and it was
sent to hibernate mode. Later at the University I was also able to
connect to their WPA2-Enterprise (radius-managed) Wi-Fi.

Back at home, I wake up my laptop, fired up the Wi-Fi connection,
got an IP address, but then nothing works. I have no Internet
connectivity:

All ping requests to public IPs and Domain Servers timed out. The
Wi-Fi router was also not reachable via ping (which may be an security
feature).

Here are some things I have done so far.

  • Reconnected serveral times to the router

  • Deleted the credentials of the networkmanager and entered it
    again

  • Restarted the networkmanager using sudo service network-manager
    restart

  • Installed wicd and disabled networkmanager at boot by renaming
    it's startup files

  • Inspected rfkill to see, if there is something blocking the
    wireless interface

  • Booted a linux live CD to see, if theres any issue to the
    configuration files

  • Set DNS and gateway manually (using 8.8.8.8 and the routers local
    IP)

  • Booting my windows partition and connecting to the wifi router
give me internet access as usual.

Computers

configuration,

Note that I cannot download any packages or make apt-get update at
the moment, because I still have to figure out how make internet
working

I'll paste all the outputs you will need to understand my
configuration, please tell me which one you need:
