I have three columns [navigation][products][shopping cart]

I want the products section to be very long, so I can hit space bar and scroll down. But when I scroll down I want the navigation and the shopping cart to not move. What technique should I use to accomplish this?

opening page X in new tab from page Y.On page X a link opens content in Y. how to change
Web Design

I got the following situation at the moment.

On site X a link opens a new site in a new tab by the command : location.href... On the new Site Y is a link, which opens new Content in the Site X. this is not good, because some users dont notice where the content of the link in Y appears. what are possible solutions ? changing the tab isnt possible as far as i can see? is it possible to load y as a popup and the closing it after clicking the link and getting the origin tab ?

the solution should work on ff < 5.0, ie8,ie9 and safari 5.0

How to convert an HTML page to .ASPX page and add/Remove Controls to it without changing the layout of the page
Web Design

Hello I'm a newbie for ASP.NET

I have a designed html page from another program, I want to convert the html into a asp.net aspx web form using visual web developer.

I have opened the page normally but it's difficult to move or replace controls in layout page, for example when I move a button, the design of page collapses.
How I can insert button or textbox into a aspx/html on Visual web Developer 2010 without changing the layout of the page?

How do i output a dynamically generated web page to a .html page instead of .py cgi page?
Web Design

Hi
So ive just started learning python on WAMP, ive got the results of a html form using cgi, and successfully performed a database search with mysqldb. I can return the results to a page that ends with .py by using print statements in the python cgi code, but i want to create a webpage that's .html and have that returned to the user, and/or keep them on the same webaddress when the database search results return.

thanks
paul

edit: to clarify on my local machine, i see /localhost/search.html in the address bar i submit the html form, and receive a results page at /localhost/cgi-bin/searchresults.py. i want to see the results on /local

When I add <!doctype html> to my page the CSS doesn't seem to work and the page looks worse
Web Design

My problem is that on firefox and chrome my website looks fine in quirks mode, but not in IE. I realise that I should add to the start of my page and go from there - but when I do this the website looks the same in all browsers, but not as I want it to.

Here is My website with DOCTYPE and here is My website in quirks mode which is how I want it to look (in chrome/firefox)

Is this a problem with my CSS? I have validated it and no errors were found!
