How to handle exception and yet complete the functionality of the method without prompting the user of the exception that has occured

Suppose there is a situation like :

statement 1; />statement 2;
statement 3;
statement 4;
statement 6;
statement 7;
statement 8; />statement 9;
statement 10;

Any of these
statements is suspected to raise an Exception. So I put
them in a try-catch block.

statement 1;
statement 2;
statement 3;

statement 4;
statement 5;
statement 6;

statement 7;
statement 8;
statement 9;

statement 10;
}catch(Exception e){

In the following code snippet,

Statement stmt = conect.getConnection();

//handle exception

try{ stmt.close(); }

catch(SQLException ignore){}

happens when an exception occurs in the finally block while executing
Is there a better way to handle these kind of

Hello All,

Consider the following interface:

package hf;

public interface BadInterface
void meth() throws Exception;

Which is implemented by the following class:

package hf;

public class apples implements BadInterface
public static void main(String[] args)
new apples().meth();

public void meth()
System.out.println("Ding dong meth.");

Although meth() is a method that throws an exception, the caller of
the method meth() is not having to handle or declare the exception and
yet the program runs successfully. Why is this the case?
Does it not violate the rule that whenever you call a method that
throws an exception, you need to catch the exception or declare that
you throw the exception yourself?
