Proxy--channel 1: open failed: connect failed: Connection timed out

I am trying to forward a web crawler's network traffic to multiple machines. I wrote some Python script using the module socksipy. The proxy corresponding code is

sock = socks.socksocket()
sock.setproxy(socks.PROXY_TYPE_SOCKS5, "127.0.0.1", port)

Also, I created 10 ssh tunnels to 10 remote machines respectively by using the command

ssh -fND 127.0.0.1:NEXTFREEPORT -o StrictHostKeyChecking=no USERNAME@MACHINE.

It works perfect fine at first. I can see all the traffic being forwarded successfully. However, after running for some time, I received some error message

[other] vnc over ssh: open failed: connect failed: Connection timed out
Programming Languages
Hi,
I'm trying to connect to a vnc server that running behind an ssh server.
Basically this arrangement:
[my box (vncviewer)] <--> [ssh.foobar.com] <--> [vncserver]
the vncserver is running on port 5901 so on "my box" I set up a tunnel with:
ssh ssh.foobar.com -f -N -C -T -l zippaplick -L5901:vncserverip:5901
then I try:
vncviewer localhost:1
but it always eventually fails to connect with:
open failed: connect failed: Connection timed out
I know I'm setting up the tunnel correctly since i can forward the ssh port 22 like t
vnc via ssh tunnel: channel 3: open failed: connect failed: No route to host
Programming Languages

I was used to connect from A to a system B through vnc with ssh tunnel via C.

I do the following:

  1. In B I start the vncserver:

    vncserver

    and let's say I get the :12

  2. In A I open the ssh tunnel:

    ssh -v -C -L 5912:B:5912 user@C

  3. In A I start my vnc client:

    vinagre localhost:12

But this doesn't work anymore, because when I start vinagre in the terminal associated to my ssh-tunnel I get:

channel 3: open failed: connect failed: No route to host

I know that there have been some problem with the system last week, but I don't know what has changed (I am not the computer administrator), maybe the ip address have been changed but I have removed

~/.ssh/know_hosts

so to avoid problems. I would appreciate any help or hint

I have checked that self-vnc works, by running

vncviewer localhost:12

on system B

I have done some tests, and I have found out that if I try to tunnel and connect to a session open by another user (with another number, like :6) I can connect successfully: in the sense that of course I cannot log in because I don't have the correct password, but at least the vnc client prompts for a password, moreover I don't see any message 'no route to host'. What could that mean? It looks like this vnc thing is not working only on some ports, doesn't it?.

Apparently the system manager set the accessible vnc port range 5900--5910, but the vncserver was assigning me a port number far above this value.

SMTP -> ERROR: Failed to connect to server: Connection timed out (110) The following From address failed: xxxxx@gmail.com ERROR
Programming Languages

In contact form it's working fine in localhost. While hosted it's not working. Showing the error

**"SMTP -> ERROR: Failed to connect to server:
Connection timed out (110) The following From address failed:
xxxxx@gmail.com ERROR"**

I attached my contact_submit.php code form

    include_once('class.phpmailer.php');

   $mail->IsSMTP(); //
    $mail->Host       = "smtp.gmail.com";
    $mail->SMTPDebug  = 1;
    $mail->SMTPAuth   = true;
    $mail->Host       = "smtp.gmail.com";
    $mail->Port       = 587;
    $mail->Username   = "xxxx@gmail.com";
    $mail->Password   = "xxxx@123";
    $mail->SMTPSecure = "tls";
    $mail->SetFrom($email, $name);

    $mail->AddReplyTo($email,$name);

    $mail->Subject    = "Contact - xxx";

    $mail->AltBody = "To view the message, please use an HTML
compatible email viewer!";

    $mail->MsgHTML($body);
    $mail->AddAddress("xxx@gmail.com","xxx");

    if(!$mail->Send())
    {
        echo $mail;
      echo "Mailer Error: " . $mail->ErrorInfo;
    }
    else
        {
      echo '<META HTTP-EQUIV="Refresh" Content="0;
URL=contact.php?id='.$id.'&send=success">';
      exit;
    }

I'm using phpmailer 5.2.1.

I contacted the hosting side, but i'm not getting actual response.
