I am student computer science of beginners level, for my university project I am trying to cross compile linux mips kernel on virtual machine. I got some error during compilation but unfortunately I can't find any useful links on that error tag. Please check this error screen short in attachment. I am using amd64, x64_32 architecture Ubuntu vm on azure and compiling latest edition linux mips kernel version 4.0.

How to automate linux kernel module compilation when installing a new kernel?
by OutOfBrain in Unix

I am writing a Linux kernel module. It is released with all the source files (although the license is proprietary) to be compiled against the running kernel. When installing my module (distributed as a .deb package) it is compiled and installed automatically. This works.

Porting Linux kernel 2.6 to new MIPS board
by Shailja in Unix

I wanna port Linux kernel 2.6.x to new MIPS board. Unfortunatelly, I can't find good actual documentation with step by step explaination. Hope, you'll help me. Paper books are OK too.

Thank you in advance!

How do I cross-compile a Linux kernel to a MIPS little endian host?
by Platinumjsi in Unix

The kernel in question is 2.6.18. If I call

make ARCH=mips CROSS_COMPILE=mipsel-linux- menuconfig

there will be only the option to build a big endian kernel in the menu. If I use ARCH=mipsel, it will complain about not having an arch/mipsel dir.
