I used to use wicd but I had problems to connect to free wifi :S I
don' t know why.

However now I'm connected from terminal, but I don't know why
connections aren't shown in network manager..

Sameone can help me?
Thank you.

I recently bought a Compaq Presario Laptop, Model CQ60-211DX, that
came with wireless B+G networking. The laptop came preloaded with
Vista and I was able to connect to my wireless router with no problem.
However, when I installed Ubuntu 8.10 and went to the Network Manager
it could not find any wireless connections. I am wondering if the
driver for the wireless is not supported or if I am doing something
wrong. I had to switch back to Vista for the wireless connection but
would love to figure out how to fix my wireless connection in Ubuntu
so I can switch back. Any help would be great.

I tried adding the network manually but no luck. I have an HP L2000
and I'm running 9.04, wired connection works just fine, that's how I'm
able to post, but I can't get the wifi working.
I've read
through some other threads, but nothing really seemed relevant. I'm
assuming it's not detecting my wireless card, and I'm not sure what
driver I'd need to be able to fix that. If anyone could help, I'd
appreciate it
**resolved** this can be deleted. Just had to get
it through System>Administration>Hardware Drivers
Ubuntu
as the title says, when i left click on network manager it shows the
wired networks (disconnected, there arent any), mobile broadband (what
im using now) but it doesnt display the "wireless
networks" which i can connect to on live CD (9.04) im using
9.10 not 9.04 now thanks
