As a graduation present, I am getting a Cowon S9 along with some
Bluetooth headphones. My aunt wants to get me a Bose SoundDock (I must
be loved more than I know :P) to go with my Ipod, the trouble
obviously being that it would not work with the S9.
What I would
enjoy better anyway would be a speaker system that is BT equipped so I
could (sort of) use the actual player as a remote while it is playing
through the stereo. Google finds some results, but it returns mostly
speakerphones and I have heard the sound quality of the Bose system
myself and I'd like to have something comparable.
Anyone know of
anything I should look at?
EDIT: I don't want a Touch,
Ubuntu
I can plug in my USB Bluetooth adapter and it gets recognized and
paired. But, when I open the sound properties, there is nothing there
to change the output from the attached speakers to the Bluetooth
speaker. It says that the speaker is recognize and connected. How to I
get Ubuntu Studio to send the sound to the Bluetooth speaker?
Ubuntu
I am using a Medion laptop and am trying out Ubuntu 14.04.1. />

I can pair and connect my Bluetooth speaker, it shows up as an output
option in the left pane of the Sound Settings window, however the
right hand pane remains as details of the internal speakers and sound
only works through the laptop speakers, not the the Bluetooth
speaker.

Not sure if this is a problem with how Ubuntu deals with the Bluetooth
hardware on my laptop or with the Sound Settings.

I experienced this problem using Mint17, though Mint16 works with my
Bluetooth speaker perfectly ok.

I have tried looking for a solution or work around on this and other
forums, but have drawn a blank. Has something changed with newer
versions of Ubuntu that it can't function with Bluetooth on some
computers - perhaps only Medion?
Ubuntu

So a week ago i bought these amazing bluetooth speakers known as
the UE Boom. My smartphone which is the iphone 4 (Yes i need a new
phone) can pair with my two Ue Booms just fine (which if i read
correctly has a bluetooth 2.0 + EDR) Now my laptop has a intel
wireless chip with bluetooth that came with it (Bluetooth protocol is
4.0) The problem is not that i can't connect to them, but i can't
connect both of them at the same time. Why? Because i want a left and
right speaker. So any suggestions how to make it work or even if its
possible with ubuntu 14.04.1?

Ubuntu

I have Lubuntu 14.10 so I run ALSA instead of PulseAudio
and I am not about to change it.
blueman-manager lets me detect my speaker as headphones
but choosing Setup-Audio Receiver(A2DP) results in error
The device has been successfully added but playback is
impossible
(nearly translated). Launching this manager from
console complements error mentioned above with href="http://pastebin.com/ErZPmWB4" rel="nofollow">this output. I
googled the problem around, but most of the information I found felt
very, very outdated. So I thought that it would be safer to
re-raise the issue here. Searching for bluetooth in
Synaptic results in alt="these packages"> Everything was here before, I only tried to
install bluez-alsa, but it didn't change anything. Before going any
further and randomly trying advices from those suspicious obsolete
guides I halted and I'm here, waiting for your solutions

UPD: I looked into similar questions and tried href="http://askubuntu.com/a/260282/261247">this script which
seemed simple and comprehensible. It printed same error that GUI
applet did

mekkanizer@N76VB:~$ ./калонка.sh on
Connecting to /org/bluez/7563/hci0/dev_CC_C5_0A_62_E8_43...
Error org.bluez.Error.Failed: Stream setup failed

UPD2: Installed an additional pile of useless packages (screenshot
updated), still no effect
