first off... im new to the forum and id like to say hi to ever one />Broadcom Corporation BCM94311MCG wlan mini-PCI (rev 02) />dv2615nr hp pavilion note book...
I am able to get my card to
connect with ndiswrapper but i would like to use the bcm43xx driver.
when the bcm43xx driver is installed every thing is perfect except i
cant see any AP's. its almost like there is a brick wall around my
labtop. i think the problem is that little switch on the frunt of my
labtop ? ? ?
is there a driver for this switch? has any one had
this problem with hp labtops?

I have a laptop that has a BCM4311 wireless card in it. Things were
working fine for quite a while. One day my mother turned it on and the
wireless wasn't working. I initially thought it was a software problem
but after running lspci and lshw I discovered that the broadcom card
is not even mentioned in the output.
My question is, if this is a
software issue such as the driver not loading would the card still
show up with either of these commands? Since the card is not showing
up I was assuming that it was bad but it seems odd to me that the
thing would work for a couple of years and then magically die. />This laptop was running 9.10 when the wireless card disappe

Hello all, I've been using ubuntu on my netbook for a while and have
been loving it, so I decided to install on my main lappy. I'm now
struggling with the wireless since the upgrade to 11.10. Wireless used
to work fine under lucid, but not anymore. Thus, as a good little geek
I googled and searched the forums, but efforts have come to naught. I
stil can't get the wretched wireless going under 11.10.
Here's
