I didn't understant that the alexa is directly or inversely
proportional to the traffic of the site. On which factors Alexa
vary?

I have a website which has reached an Alexa rank of 250,000. It
had four sub-domains and Alexa was ranking them as well.

Two weeks ago, my rank became 290,000 and Alexa now shows only one
sub-domain in addition to the main domain.

I use the Alexa toolbar and all my friends use it. I would at least
think that Alexa should rank a sub-domain which we use everyday. Why
did this happen?

Edited: I submit my blog to Digital Point Ads Publishers but until now
the alexa rank still 99,999,999. Is this is a bug.?

Alexa.com provides following information for two sites at the same
time with the same country:

Site A: tarafdari.com ( href="http://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/tarafdari.com#trafficstats"
rel="nofollow">Alexa Link)

1. Global Rank: 8523

2. Country Rank: 157

3. Percentage Of Visitors from that Country:
83.2%

4. Daily Page-views Per Visitor: 13.00

5. Bounce Rate: 13.80%

Site B: 2iranfilm.com ( href="http://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/2iranfilm.com"
rel="nofollow">Alexa Link)

1. Global Rank: 15043

2. Country Rank: 125

3. Percentage Of Visitors from that Country:
83.2%

4. Daily Page-views Per Visitor: 7.09

5. Bounce Rate: 23.70%

While All metrics of site A look better than site B, the ranking
seems totally wrong. Also site A has always been better than site B in
global rank. Any explanations for this contradiction?

I was wondering is there actually any point traffic and Alexa etc
rank wise in terms of making an API available for a website? I am
curious because i have come across a website which uses data from an
API which actually ranks higher than the site offering the API.

Example of a site using data and ranking higher than the actual
site with the API:

  • http://example.com (Alexa 118,821)

  • http://example2.com (Alexa 198,471) (Offers an
    API)

I am also now curious about Widgets and RSS data as well and
starting to wonder if it's even worth the effort to make these.

Is there a trick to making an API and raising your rank when the
API gets a curl? Perhaps by including Alexa, Google etc
tracking/analytics scripts on the page where it generates the JSON etc
data somehow would work?
