ASP.NET URL rewriting like Wikipedia

I have searched the Internet, and it looked like there are three options

The old, hard way : create some URL handler extension for IIS (I am not sure if the terminologies are correct).
.NET 3.5 way: create some sort of URL handler class with complicated Web.config modification.
The new, easy .NET 4.0 way: Call MapPageRoute in Global.asax.cs.

I tried 2 first, but failed to make it work. Then I tried 3, but also failed. After some efforts, I found that my IIS was set to use .net 2.0 app pool by default. Now I succeeded 3.

But the problem is it does not work when the URL contains something like /,, %, &.... Wh

Development Tools & Services

I downloaded wikipedia dump and now want to remove the wikipedia markup in the contents of each page. I tried writing regular expressions but they are too many to handle. I found a python library but I need a java library because, I want to integrate into my code.

Development Tools & Services

Hi I am new to Ubuntu. I need Wikipedia off line so I tried a few suggestion: ( http://www.junauza.com/2008/07/offli...for-linux.html )
I unzipped pocketwikipedia and nothing happens when I click on the WikipediaL file.
I tried to google a possible way but nothing ( i tried chmod 755 or to do run it from the terminal but nothing happens (no such file or command not found) yet when i ask to list the file the terminal list it is there.
Then I tryed the Cd download (Wikipedia 0.5) so I installed it very well apparently as it went by the whole process but finally when I click on the Kiwix file that is supposed to start the application, nothing happens again...

URL rewriting rules is working weird in web.config/not rewriting sub-folder files
9/1/2015 7:40 am Development Tools & Services

I need to rewrite the URL extensions such as .php's .html's. I am facing a situation where for ex. www.mydotcom.com/folder/file.php is working fine as www.mydotcom.com/folder/file but www.mydotcom.com/folder/folder/file1.php is not working as www.mydotcom.com/folder/folder/file1

And for URL extension replace/rewrite i am using web.config due to my windows hosting and this is the code i am using for that-

<configuration>
<system.webServer>
  <rewrite>
   <rules>
    <rule name="RewritePHP">
      <match url="(.*)" />
        <conditions logicalGrouping="MatchAll">
            <add input="{REQUEST_FILENAME}" matchType="IsFile"
negate="true" />
            <add input="{REQUEST_FILENAME}" matchType="IsDirectory"
negate="true" />
        </conditions>
        <action type="Rewrite" url="{R:1}.php" />
    </rule>
   </rules>
  </rewrite>
 </system.webServer>
</configuration>

Now it is saying for every directory and every file with .php's(.html's i will resolve later)still what could be the problem
