Hibernate Reverse Engineering with Eclipse Juno and Hibernate tools not working together

HOME ยป Databases

I am having trouble using the Hibernate Tool/Eclipse JUNO reverse
engineering to work with SqlServer 2008R2. The Java Domain Code and
the Hibernate files are not being generated ? The Hibernate tool is
connecting to the DB as well as we can retrieve the Meta Data of the
table.

Is there a relatively simple way to reverse engineer a database
from the command line and generate Hibernate artifacts based on the
database? the only info I've been able to find on doing this requires
jumping through lots of hoops with Hibernate tools that weren't
designed for command line use, and ant build files.

I want to add elements to a collection that ends up getting mapped
like this:

<set name="others" inverse="true"
lazy="true" table="other" fetch="select">
<key>

<column name="otherId" not-null="true" />

</key>
<one-to-many class="my.pkg.OtherEntity"
/>
</set>

I'd like Hibernate to use
instead, because I don't care about the order they're retrieved in, I
just want to keep that side of the association up-to-date. According
to https://www.hibernate.org/117.html, "Hibernate can add to a
<bag>, <idbag> or <list> declared with
inverse="true" without

I use the Eclipse Hibernate Tools to create domain classes with JPA
annotations from my Oracle database. To control sequence generation I
have added the following entry to the hibernate.reveng.xml:

/>

...
<primary-key>
<generator
class="sequence">
<param
name="sequence">SEQ_FOO_ID</param>

</generator>
</primary-key>
...

/>

This results in the following annotation:

/>@SequenceGenerator(name = "generator", sequenceName =
"SEQ_FOO_ID")

Using the Hibernate ant task from with Gradle I'm able to generate
entity classes from a database using the documentation at
http://docs.jboss.org/tools/latest/en/hibernatetools/html_single/index.html#d0e5102When
I change template and templateprefix, Hibernate cannot find my custom
templates. To be sure, I copied the templates directly from the
hibernate jars and added a single comment to the Pojo.ftl.Here's my
working Gradle build file with the Hibernate templates... below the
