I am using windows .I want to deploy my django app on Heroku .I got errors doing that and came to know that it supports postgresql database but i used SQLITE3. So, how can i convert to Postgresql ? Is changing Engine, databasename, username, pwd in settings.py enough or any more cahnges ? Also, after making changes, is my code still valid, or do i need to change everything, like queries and other database related things that i have in my code.

After installing postgresql and psycopg , i tried this command :

python manage.py syncdb

It returned error saying : received invalid response to SSL negotiation medianet_width='336'; medianet_height= '280'; medianet_crid='202258688';

Error migrating from sqlite3 to postgresql on heroku for a django app?
Web Design

I created a django app which worked fine locally. When tried deploying to Heroku I found out that I need to use the Heroku Postgresql addon in order to use database.
So I changed my settings file like this:

# Parse database configuration from $DATABASE_URL
import dj_database_url
DATABASES = {'default': dj_database_url.parse('sqlite://database.db')}

where database.db is the pre-existing sqlite3 database from my local run.

I commented the default DATABASE section entirely. After doing this, when I try running the server or syncdb I get the following error:

Load legacy sqlite3 db into postgresql on Heroku
Web Design

I have an sqlite3 database with data I want to load into my Heroku app's postgres db.

What's the best way to do this?

I was going to try exporting the records (it's a single table) to a yaml file and then uploading that file to heroku and initializing new records from it, but I ran into encoding issues. Those problems aside, is that a good approach? What's a better way of solving that problem?

Issue(s) Deploying Rails app (SQLite3) to Heroku (PostgreSQL)
Web Design

I see numerous posts regarding issues with deploying to Heroku, but I haven't been able to find the solution for my case. Any input would be much appreciated.

I have a blogging application that runs fine locally. However, I am returning "I'm sorry, but something went wrong" when I deploy to Heroku.

The gems I have are:

group :development do
gem 'sqlite3', '1.3.5'
end
group :production do
gem 'pg', '0.12.2'
end

The steps I've taken are:

git add.
git commit -am "latest update"
git push
git push heroku
rake db:mi
