django app - i completed app using SQLITE3 but want to convert to postgreSql to deply to heroku ,how to convert?

HOME ยป Web Design

I am using windows .I want to deploy my django app on Heroku .I got
errors doing that and came to know that it supports postgresql
database but i used SQLITE3. So, how can i convert to Postgresql ? Is
changing Engine, databasename, username, pwd in settings.py enough or
any more cahnges ? Also, after making changes, is my code still valid,
or do i need to change everything, like queries and other database
related things that i have in my code.

After installing
postgresql and psycopg , i tried this command :

/>python manage.py syncdb

It returned error
saying : received invalid response to SSL negotiation

I see numerous posts regarding issues with deploying to Heroku, but
I haven't been able to find the solution for my case. Any input would
be much appreciated.

I have a blogging application that
runs fine locally. However, I am returning "I'm sorry, but something
went wrong" when I deploy to Heroku.

The gems I have
are:

group :development do
gem 'sqlite3',
'1.3.5'
end
group :production do
gem 'pg',
'0.12.2'
end

The steps I've taken
are:

git add.
git commit -am "latest update" />git push
git push heroku
rake db:mi

I created a django app which worked fine locally. When tried
deploying to Heroku I found out that I need to use the Heroku
Postgresql addon in order to use database.
So I changed my
settings file like this:

# Parse database configuration
from $DATABASE_URL
import dj_database_url
DATABASES =
{'default': dj_database_url.parse('sqlite://database.db')} />

where database.db is the pre-existing
sqlite3 database from my local run.

I commented the
default DATABASE section entirely. After doing this, when I try
running the server or syncdb I get the following
error:

Programming Languages

I'm trying to calculate the data needed to generate a box plot
which means I need to figure out the 1st and 3rd Quartiles along with
the median. I have found some solutions for doing it in Postgresql
however they seem to depend on either PL/Python or PL/R which it seems
like Heroku does not have either enabled for their postgresql
databases. In fact I ran "select lanname from pg_language;" and only
got back "internal", "c", and "sql".

I also found some
code to do it in pure ruby but that seems somewhat inefficient to
me.

I'm rather new to Box Plots, Postgresql, and Ruby on
Rails so I'm open to suggestions on how I should handle this. There

Does anyone know if there is any issues with converting a Rails app
to Sinatra with Heroku? I already have a Heroku app running and it is
currently a simple Rails app that is basically a few views and a
controller with no database interaction. Are there any potential
issues if I just change everything from Rails to Sinatra?

I'm trying to run the Django on Heroku following the tutorial
at:

Everything was running well untill I got to the syncbd
part:

Syncing the database

When I run:
heroku run python manage.py syncdb, I get the following
error:

psycopg2.OperationalError: could not connect to
server: No such file or directory
Is the server running
locally and accepting
connections on Unix domain socket
"/var/run/postgresql/.s.PGSQL.5432"?

I'm
currently using PostgreSQL from Homebrew, and it's running well:
