hi,
i looking for altertive of cpanel with whm too
anyone
know a good solution?
thanks for your help
I have a client who wants a WordPress blog, but for security reasons I
do not want Wordpress in the same cPanel account with the client's
website. The client wants the url to the blog to be mysite/blog. Since
I use a LINUX VPS, I figured I could use an Apache Alias to redirect
from the client site to the blog,(using post virtualhost include) like
this:
Alias /blog home/blogsite/public_html
I have Aliases
that work within the same cPanel account where there are multiple
domains, but the above doesn't work between two accounts
I don't
want to use a redirect, such as in htaccess, because that would defeat
the SEO benefits. We want the blog to APPEAR to be within the c

Hello,
I have link in my site like:
<a
href="index.php?page=article&title=title-something&id=1234">blabla</a> />I want to use in my site friendly links like:
<a
href="title-something-1234">blabla</a>
Where
"title-something" is a title from an article and "1234" it's his
ID.
How can I change the htaccess file in order if I click on
that link to show that article but to make the mysql select query by

Hi guys,
I'm the furthest thing you can imagine from a Linux pro,
so this may be a bit of a noob question, but I'm running some backups
on one of our servers (we don't have an actual SA), and I've recently
encountered an annoying problem. When I run the following command to
zip the entire current directory (which is normally httpdocs), it
seems to include itself in the tarball: (run in httpdocs directory) />Syntax: [ Download ] [ Hide ]Syntax: [ Download ] [ Show ]tar -zcvf
backup.tar.gz .
I think this has only started happening since
I've been using the '.' at the end, instead of the an '*', as that
wouldn't include .htaccess.
Any ideas? Alternative
One of the great things about Linux is that you can do the same thing
hundreds of different ways—even something as simple as generating a
random password can be accomplished with dozens of different commands.
Here’s 10 ways you can do it.
We gathered all of these commands
from Command-Line Fu and tested them out on our own Linux PC to make
sure they work. You should be able to use at least some of these on
Windows with Cygwin installed, though we didn’t test all of
them—the last one definitely works though.
Generate a Random
Password
For any of these random password commands, you can
either modify them to output a different password length, or you can
just use the

I've got Ubuntu 10.04 Linux and GNOME 2.30.2. Anyone ever figure out
how to make it such that when I switch workspaces, I can have custom
icons on the desktop per workspace? I mean, if I have 4 clients I'm
working with, it would be great to click the appropriate workspace per
the phonecall that comes in and immediately switch to just those
desktop folders and apps. Why this isn't native and built-in is beyond
me -- it's very desirable.
