I need configuration keepalived which allows:

  1. Using only two RealServers/Hosts, without separated Director.

  2. On each server running VRRP and settings VIP for master.

  3. If all servers is alive on master(First) running load-balancer,
    which runs in RR mode and pass 50% traffic to Second server

  4. If master server down, Second server becomes NEW master (the king
    is dead, long live the king)

  5. When First server becomes alive, on master(currently Second
    server) start running load-balance

How I understand situation by myself, I should create one
vrrp_instance on each server to sharing VIP, and add
virtual_server configuration on master (dynamically).

What I must do additionally in system?
Which kernel params should I pass to sysctl-config?

EDIT:
my keepalived.conf

Basically, I have a web app - www.example.com - it
allows users may create subdomains:

  • sub1.example.com

  • sub2.example.com

  • sub3.example.com

Now I want to setup system that resolve user's own domains to these
subdomains:

  • example.net -> sub1.example.com

  • example.org -> sub2.example.com

  • example.co.uk -> sub3.example.com

When users add their CName records & point to my
dns.mydomain.com. I want to resolve their own domains
then park to these subdomains

Please help me, thanks

I want to pipe apache logs (with my custom format) to my script. I
at the same time want to keep loging standard format for every vhost
to separate file.

When I put
CustomLog "|/path/to/my/script" myformat
in httpd.conf it works perfect but only for vhosts that has no
CustomLog /path/to/logs/vhostXX-logfile otherformat
inside

For vhosts that has already logging in it it does not log anything
to |/path/to/my/script

I could put
CustomLog "|/path/to/my/script" myformat
in every vhost but then script gets spawned in paralel for every
single vhost and that is not acceptable.

What can I do?

I need to implement a Wi-Fi captive portal in a University
environment that allows self-registration of mobile devices. I'm
specifically looking for capabilities like Active Directory
integration, login the first time and register your device and then
on, auto-identification via Mac address of your device etc.

Any recommendations?

Thanks,

m^e

I have 4-5 Ubuntu 14.04 servers in my network and I want to share a
common /home directory between them. I have setup the nfs
server, and I can mount the directory on various clients. However my
problem is that of user IDs.

Example: A user on the nfs server is UID 1003, but
on an nfs client this same user is UID 1002, on
another nfs client 1005.

What are my options in resolving this conflict? I've had quite an
extensive google search around looking for options and can't find
clear answers. Can I map users from one UID to another, or do I have
manually change UIDs across all boxes?

This is my current /etc/exports

I have two Cisco 1921s that will be used in the same Windows domain
network (corp.example.com). The first router will be in the data
center. The second router will be a dedicated router sitting in a
separate office (CEO's office which is in the same building). The
router will be in the CEOs office only to provide the best routing
performance (using QoS). The first router will serve as a default
gateway under a Class C 192.168.0.1 network. It will have an IP
address of 192.168.1.1. The second router will have an IP address of
192.168.2.1. I am at a loss on how to configure the routers to exist
in the same windows domain network.

  1. I want the second router to be able to find other devices in
    the 192.168.1.1-254 range, and vice versa. The first router should be
    able to find any devices in the 192.168.2.1-254 range.

  2. Devices connected to second router will need to be able to have
    access to the domain controllers/dns servers that are connected to the
    first router (through an unmanaged switch). The two domain controllers
    are addressed 192.168.1.30 and 192.168.1.35, respectfully.

What commands/configurations will I need on each router?

PHP/5.4.45, nginx/1.2.1

My PHP script set correct content/type for json:

header('Content-Type: application/json; charset=UTF-8');

But in server response header:

Content-Type:text/html

How I should change header for this php page?

header function work correctly on apache servers. How to set
correct header on nginx?

If I create a container using a tag/label

docker run --name some_container -d me/my_image

Update the image with

docker pull me/my_image

And restart the container with

docker restart some_container

Which version does the new container use?

In docker inspect .Image gives the id of
the specific image, .Config.Image gives the label.

I would like to Block facebook messenger and whatsApp on my Dlink
router DSL-2730U . I googled the same and tried some of the methods
but not a single one worked. It's really important as I want to keep
my children at bay from online stalkers

I'm trying to run a NodeJS server on port 8000 along with my Apache
server which has a ssl certificate. I'm using virtual hosts and
proxypass to link from my apache website through the /node path to my
NodeJS server.

The problem I'm having right is that I'm able to load the pages
served with the Express plugin but the polling from SocketIO
connections seem to fail. I've tried a bunch of things but I just cant
seem to get it to work.

If I setup my client to listen to

var socket = io.connect('example.com:8000', {secure:
false});

My console show something along the lines of this:

socket.io-1.3.7.js:2 GET
https://example.com:8000/socket.io/?EIO=3&transport=polling&t=1451044647116-0
net::ERR_CONNECTION_CLOSED

Also, I know how to use SSL with my NodeJS server but I assume
isn't going to work since I'm also listening through port 443 with my
apache server.

Anyone knows if this is even possible and/or how to set this
up?

EDIT: Forgot to mention I'm running on Ubuntu 14.04 x64
