I've just installed on my Debian Sid with XFCE4 network manager,
but I have a problem, no wireless connection are shown. What Should I
do?
I used to use wicd but I had problems to connect to free wifi :S I
don' t know why.

However now I'm connected from terminal, but I don't know why
connections aren't shown in network manager..

Sameone can help me?
Thank you.

EDIT:
Now is showing but network manager gives me this error:
enter image<br />
description here

EDIT2:

My /etc/network/interfaces

auto lo
iface lo inet loopback

I'm using Solaris 10. I need to add to SVN everything I've placed
in the sub directories of my SVN checkout. I have added files and
directories and sub directories - is there a command to take care of
everything at once?

If not, is there a command I can run to list all the items I have
added that have not been added to SVN yet?

I need two very specific cron statements:

  1. A cron entry that would run on the 2nd Monday of each month
every 4 hours beginning at 02:00 and execute the file
    /opt/bin/cleanup.sh

  2. A cron entry that would run at 18:15 on the 3rd day of every
month ending in an "r" that executes /opt/bin/verrrrrrrry.sh

I've already tried various cron testers:

cron
checker
, rel="nofollow">cron tester,and href="https://crontranslator.appspot.com/" rel="nofollow">cron
translator

however none of them seem to be able to handle advanced cron
expressions(or I do not know how to format the correct expression) as
stated on

href="http://www.quartz-scheduler.org/documentation/quartz-1.x/tutorials/crontrigger"
rel="nofollow">the cron trigger tutorial and
rel="nofollow">wikipedia

How can I check my cron statements? I obviously cannot wait for the
actual event to pass so that the daemon may execute them.

Is there a good cron tester which supports advanced expressions? Or
how to make the cron daemon parse the expression, or how to code these
expressions?

What I have so far for these statements is:

  1. 0 2 * * 0#2 /opt/bin/cleanup.sh

  2. 15 18 3 * * /opt/bin/verrrrrrrry.sh

But of course these are not correct.

For #1, I do not know how to specify the '2nd Monday', nor 'every 4
hours', while still beginning at 02:00.

For #2, I have no idea how to only specify months ending in an 'r'
except by manually coding them in. Nor do I know how to specify the
3rd day.

I'm using the latest version of manjaro 64 bit and latest version
of xampp. I want to install composer and laravel, tried many solutions
on stackoverflow and askubuntu. Everytime I see a different error,
like openssl and phar are missing and stuff like that. but in fact
nothing is mising, I enabled them fromphp.ini

So is there any manjaro user/archer who got Laravel to work on
xampp? how?

PHP 7, same issue with previous versions.

  5. In my zshrc I have

If I manage to correctly load openssl, mcrypt and phar, i think all
my problems will be solved. Composer seems to install without problems
but issues start to popup when I install laravel, it also installs
without problems but displays warnings shown above.

I am looking for a method to go out with different ip in
order to access some sites that are blocked by my local provider(I
need to write scripts to retrieve data from thos pages). On
Windows I have proxyes, but now migrating to Ubuntu due to
better workinng with ipython notebooks for a specific kernel I
need to do the same.
Hoewer I am interested if cand I do this with open source things
and not to depend on proxyes located in other locations.
As I understand doing some research on the web there is a
possibility with open vpn that if I understand correct allows to
make this trick with private network inside wan network and ssh
tunneling but my knowledge in this domain is very poor .Could
this community help me with this issue?Tnks!

I tried to install fedora 23 on dual-boot with an usb stick today,
I followed this video tutorial : href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gOP_FtP1e9U"
rel="nofollow">https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gOP_FtP1e9U

I'm in UEFI mode, so I installed fedora and everything worked
perfectly until I had to reboot, then I got this error:

Reboot and Select proper Boot device or insert Boot Media in
selected Boot Device and press a key.

I searched a lot for this error and it seems that a lot of people
have problems with it. So I tried to resolve it by restarting my
computer, going into the BIOS settings and changing the order of my
boot device so my hard disk was in first place and my CD/DVD was in
second place, I saved and restarted, it didn't work.

I also tried to put the CD/DVD in first place and it didn't work
either, my BIOS version is 2.15.1227. I can only put my usb stick back
and load fedora in live mode, so I tested the command to see in wich
mode I am and I am still in UEFI.

Here is my boot order :

src="http://i.stack.imgur.com/x5540.jpg" alt="enter image description
here">

I disabled the secure boot and the hibernation mode is on.

Even after changing the boot order, I still get the error, I don't
know what to do, any help would be appreciated,
regards.

EDIT : I finally solved it by reInstalling Fedora in the right mode
(UEFI) thanks to "lakedevu"

I am student computer science of beginners level, for my university
project I am trying to cross compile linux mips kernel on virtual
machine. I got some error during compilation but unfortunately I can't
find any useful links on that error tag. Please check this error
screen short in attachment.
I am using amd64, x64_32 architecture Ubuntu vm on azure and compiling
latest edition linux mips kernel version 4.0.

I just installed debian linux, now I would like to configure a
connection to my house router to have internet connection.

I cannot figure out how to do it, I followed many tutorials but I
am still confused

Please tell me what output I have to post to show you my actual
configuration,
thanks in advance for help

Note that I cannot download any packages or make apt-get update at
the moment, because I still have to figure out how make internet
working

I'll paste all the outputs you will need to understand my
configuration, please tell me which one you need:

lsb_release -a:

Description: Debian GNU/Linux 8.2 (jessie)
Release: 8.2
Codename: jessie

I want the storage server to reduce performance after the licence
expired, instead of powering it off which seems too violent. I have
considered limiting net speed, however some customers may just use
Fibre Channel to communicate. As a storage server, it mainly accesses
data through disk, so how do I limit the disk I/O speed? Any other
better choice to reduce server performance aside from stopping cpu
cores?

I am running Ubuntu 14.04 inside VirtualBox 5.0.10 r104061,
installed from the mini.iso from Canonical.

Somehow, booting has gotten a huge delay (edit: 'huge' for me
being... a good minute staring at the message (which is
not the cause, because I've seen it before, without
the delays)

0000:00:07.0: SMBus base address uninitialized - upgrade
BIOS or use force_addr=0xaddr

without any changes whatsoever,

while the system used to boot really quick), I imagine since yesterday
-- I can't post a log for comparison due to space issues...

but maybe someone can see where the problem is?

It doesn't seem to be plymouth, and not the /dev/xconsole message, not
the virtualbox either... I couldn't really spot the difference to
older syslog entries for boots.

But maybe someone else has an eye for that here... can someone help me
find the problem?

Are there any irregularities that could cause boot delays?

I have posted an excerpt from /var/log/syslog below.

The only packages I installed since the apparent slowdown were

tcpdump hostname psmisc dhcping bash-completion
(reinstalled)

and I toyed around with the dhcp settings.

What was noticeable, was that from one boot to another,
together with the slow booting, grub suddently started showing me the
boot screen, where before, the ubuntu splash showed, as if some grub
settings had been changed
.

I also tried disabling plymouth without any change, as well as
disabling the dhcp service.

I'm really at a loss here... it may have to do with virtualbox,
but I don't recall changing anything apart from setting up a different
VM in parallel and maybe adding or removing an internal networking
adapter once...
