How to remove Gravity factor from Accelerometer readings in Android 3-axis accelerometer
by Gianluca Riccardi in Android

Can anyone help on removing the g factor from accelerometer readings. I am using SensorEventListener with onSensorChanged() method for getting Sensor.TYPE_ACCELEROMETER data. I need only pure acceleration values in all directions. So at any state if the device is stable (or in constant speed), it should give (0.0,0.0,0.0) roughly.
Currently, depending on its pitch and roll, it gives me va

Need help using Accelerometer in iOS
by David Porter in Operating Systems

Dear fellow iOS Developers:

I am working on an app that would play a beep for each position the user holds their iOS device (standing, lying on its front/back, or on its side). At the moment, I am able to play a sound when the user has the device on its side, however, the problem is that because I have the accelerometer values linked with the slider, the beeping sound is continuous

Accelerometer update
by mikieb in Programming Languages

I have a problem with accelerometer update interval, or a sensitivity filter or something third, I dont know. No matter what I put in the update interval the image jumps every second, you can see it. if i put 1/60 it's moving smoothly but jumps a little every second. Help anybody, the code is below:

-(void)accelerometer:(UIAccelerometer *)accelerometer didAccelerate:(UIAccelerati

Accelerometer troubles in WP7

Im trying to use a shaking motion to clear the content of an inkpresenter, however shaking is just crashing my application. Here is the code:

object SyncRoot = new object();
private int _minimumShakes;
ShakeRecord[] _shakeRecordList;
private int _shakeRec

Accelerometer samplerate
by Thomas Plunkett in Mobile Programming

I'm having some problems with the accelerometer. When I first started develop my game the controls felt very snappy and precise, but when adding more graphical elements the accelerometer feels like it's reacting very late and sometimes not as precise as before. I'm having a framerate of around 40fps.

This is where I read the values (as i'm supposed to I guess)

Accelerometer not working
by tanknique in Programming Languages

I am new to android. I want to play a audio file when my mobile get shaking. I know the acceleration code. But when I wrote mediaplayer code I didn't get any output from my device.

public void onSensorChanged(SensorEvent event) {
// TODO Auto-generated method stub
if (event.sensor.getType() == Sensor.TYPE_ACCELEROMETER) {

Accelerometer Isn't working
by Steve M in Web Design

I have read Apple's documentation on CMMotion and everything that needs to be done in order to NSLog accelerometer data appears to be done in my app. However, when I run my app and flip the screen there is no data returned from the Accelerometer. I have no runtime errors. Here is my code:

- (void)viewWillAppear:(BOOL)animated
[super viewWillAppear:animated];

Accelerometer is not getting called
by slippysoup in Web Design

I am doing a somewhat strange implementation. My application uses GPS data continuously and using that I have to do some task. Also I have implemented accelerometer stuff to detect whether device is stationary or moving. When the device is stationary I stop GPS fetching by calling stopUpdatingLocation, and when device is moving I call startUpdatingLocation. This works

Accelerometer in background
by Geoffrey De Smet in Programming Languages

I am in the process of developing an Android application with the intent of monitoring accelerometer data in the background. My own device is running Android 2.2. When the device is locked it no longer collects the accelerometer data. I am aware of the partial wake lock option, but due to the nature of my application it simply isn't ideal.

I have done quite a bit of intensive Googli
