JavaScript/HTML: How do I display an IMG with a set dimension and if the image is wider or taller than that dimension, to crop/hide the overflow?
by YuriyLazarev in Programming Languages

I have a bunch of images that are guaranteed to have:

minimum width = 200px
maximum width = 250px
minimum height = 150px
maximum height = 175px

What I want to do is display a consist 200px by 150px rectangle of the image while maintaining scale (no stretching or shrinking).

Which means, I might have some overflow.

How can I display the ima

Replace Least significant bit of double dimension array with other bit of single dimension
by Christian Seitzer in Programming Languages

I am trying to replace least significant bits of rgb from result arrays's bits

for (int k = 0; k < rgb.length ; ++k)
{
for (int n=0; n<rgb[k].length; n++)
{
rgb[k][n] = (rgb[k][n] >> 1) << 1;
rgb[k][n] = rgb[k][n] | result[n];
}
}

rgb is double dim

How to process second dimension of an Array based on similar first dimension value?
by picamiolo in Programming Languages

I am trying to write some php code to process the second dimension's value of an array based on similar values of the first dimension values.

Following is the sample output.

[0] => Array (
[0] => 1
[1] => 0.091238491238491
)
[1] => Array (
[0] => 2
[1] => 0.2221

Matlab: finding largest sum of first dimension, grouping by second dimension
by Tridnewly in Programming Languages

I have a 2-D matrix A(value, label). I want to find the label that has the largest and second largest sum of values. For example:

A = (1, 1;
2, 1;
3, 2;
4, 2;
5, 3)

In this case the result should be largest = 2, second largest = 3. How can I do this in MATLAB?

How to determine the longest dimension of an multi-dimension array in C#

I was wandering if I have a multi-dimension array (M*N matrix), how to determine the value of M and N in C#?

Thanks.

Load dimension value from res/values/dimension.xml from source code
by wraith in Programming Languages

I'd like to load the value as it is.
I have two dimension.xml files, one in /res/values/dimension.xml and the other one in /res/values-sw360dp/dimension.xml.

From source code I'd like to do something like

getResources().getDimension(R.dimen.tutorial_cross_marginTop));

This works but the value I get is

Is it possible to retrieve the second dimension length of a 2 dimension array, if the first dimension is 0-length?
by icode.cs in Programming Languages

Well, that might be a strange question, and maybe just because I'm not familiar enough with Java.

So, I declared a 2D int array:

int[][] arr = new int[0][10]

Now, as you can see, the second dimension's length is 10, while the first dimension's length is 0. I'm not sure how Java treats these kind of arrays, but the compiler doesn't produce any erro

Is it preferred to access the first dimension first than to access the second dimension of a 2 dimension array?
by kraszie in Programming Languages

Here is the code,

int array[X][Y] = {0,};
// 1 way to access the data
for (int x = 0; x < X; x++)
for(int y = 0; y < Y; y++)
array[x][y] = compute();
// the other way to access the data
for (int y = 0; y < Y; y++)
for (int x = 0; x < X; x++)
array[x][y] = compute();

Is it true that the first way

How to Find Dimension of a Multiple Dimension Array in C
by Spain in Programming Languages

I declared a 2-dimensional array like this:

char *array[][3] = {
{"a", "b", "c"},
{"d", "e", "f"},
{"u", "v", "w"},
{"x", "y", "z"}};

How do I find out the first dimension?

How to Remove a Dimension 8200 Dimension Processor
by Josh Tegart in Computers
The Dell Dimension 8200 is a desktop tower computer with an Intel Pentium 4 processor. Depending on the configuration ordered from the factory, the speed of the included processor varies between 1.5 and 2.4 GHz. The price of secondhand Pentium 4 processors has dropped greatly since the Dimension 8200 was released, and if you purchased your Dimension 8200 with a low-end processor, you can now enjoy
