Avoiding making multiple calls to Find.find(“./”) in Ruby
by Steven Weber in Programming Languages

I am not sure what is the best strategy for this. I have a class, where I can search the filesystem for a certain pattern of files. I want to execute Find.find("./") only once. how would I approach this:

def files_pattern(pattern)
Find.find("./") do |f|
if f.include? pattern
@fs << f
end
end
end

Rails: Converting from MongoMapper to Mongoid: Why can't I find models by :_id using Model.find?

Using where:

Excel Range.Find and maintaining user selected find options
by sgmichelsen in Programming Languages

When automating excel using the Excel Interop API, I can easily do a range search using the method Range.Find. I am passing through the LookIn, LookAt, SearchOrder, SearchDirection, and MatchCase options for the Find. This as noted by the MSDN documentation, persists the values passed into this method into the user settings, so the next time that the user opens the find form, the options will b

find myFolder -type f -exec grep -r KEYWORD {} +
find myFolder -type f -exec grep -r KEYWORD {} + | wc -l
find myFolder -type f | wc -l

The first line gives me back the filenames where KEYWORD was found.

The second line gives me the number of occurrences

by socurious in Programming Languages

The idea is that there are two versions of the elements getting looped and I need to distinguish between them (based on content) to determine which actions to take.

This works great if fin

How to Create HTML jQuery Find Tool Similar to MS-Word Find
by destrekor in Programming Languages

Someone wants me to create a find tool with jQuery similar to Microsoft Word's find tool -- with Next and Previous buttons. Luckily the HTML content being search should just be a single, small static HTML page. So i doubt there would be server-side involvement.

Are there any jQuery widgets out there that do this kind of thing? Or does someone have examples (or high level descriptio
