Assistance with finding correct algorithm for finding significant points in images for triangulation
by wolf1306 in Programming Languages

I am trying to find the correct image processing algorithm for dissecting an image based on pixel-color-differences and distance between each point.

Essentially the result would be a listing of points on an image, for example something similar to Delaunay Raster (vimeo), where instead of the person putting points manually they could be found by sweeping through the image. I am sure

Grails criteria for finding not in another set of results (or finding non-admin users in Spring)

That is a condensed version of what you'll normally find when you install the grails spring-se

Finding a right" (fast and accurate) way for finding with what to check the collision for 2d games. c++
by Bulk Beef in C & C++ & C#

I am creating 2d rpg game. For maps I use 32x32 tiles. Objects like player and monsters have different sprite-mask width and height and they move not in tiles, but by x and y.
So I am trying to find a "right" (fast and accurate) way for finding with what to check the collision, between player and tiles, player and monsters, monsters and tiles, monster and players.

A* path-finding algorithm not always finding shortest route C# XNA
by Valentine in C & C++ & C#

I'm creating a simple XNA C# top-down game. In the game you will be followed by an enemy around a maze like map. ATM I have it set so that when the game starts the enemy finds the shortest path to you (which it does). A new path is found every second, if the player has moved.

The game always finds a route to you, but seems to have trouble finding the shortest route to a moving targ

I can't seem to figure out what reg. expr. notation fits my needs:

I have wrapped some debugging code in DEBUG() macros...

so for example to print some debug output in log level 1 i use the following bits of code:

DEBUG_LVL_1(printf("some text");)

This is not always and everywhere the case though - sometimes I have the printf statement

Finding who shared a link publicly and finding who reshared a given link
by Eric in Development Tools & Services

Two questions regarding tracking shared links:

I have a URL and I want to get a list of public shares for that URL. I found this was answered a couple of times here on stackoverflow claiming it's impossible, but I don't understand why this is not allowed. If I can query public posts for given search keywords, like: https://graph.facebook.com/search?q=watermelon&type=post, then w

Complicated SQL query - Finding a set of something, counting it, then finding a subset of the first set, and counting that
by CyberGreg in Coding

I have three tables, we'll call them table1, table2, and table3. Lets say each table has a user id column and a date column. What i'd like to do is to be able to count the number of rows with a specific user id in table1, and sum it with the number of rows with that user id in tables 2 and 3.

I'd then like to take that first query I did which has all rows with the user id, and the

A Better way? Finding ASP.NET controls, finding their id
by scott.sizemore in ASP & ASP.net

I have a method that finds all the controls, iterates through them, determines if they are a textbox,drop down list, etc.. retrieves their ID name, and depending on the ID name it will set a boolean statement (thus I would know if that section of the form is complete, and will email to a certain group of people) unfortunetly this is done with too many if statements and was wondering if I could

C++ Help finding the max value in a map
by Dan Lowe in Programming Languages

So I've been searching around and have tried many different things and at this point my mind has pretty much melted and I can't think straight. I've been doing a basic program to find the max, min, median, variance, mode etc. of a vector. Everything went fine until I got to the mode. I can't even get started the way I want to.

The way I see it, I should be able to loop through the v
