How to add a “Whats new or whats changed” feature to my intranet project?

I work on our intranet, which is continuously being updated with new features or fixed bugs. Bugs and features are added to JIRA and then assigned to myself so that I can take care of those. Now I would like to add a new feature to the intranet, which shows the following information:


Current SVN version.
Current list of bug/fixes changes

What is the best way to achive bot

I have made code that stores utf-8 in a database.


It shows it well in the browser but looks distorted in the database. Since the functionality seems to work and it doesn't look like I have had any problems with processing the string input, is it any point in 'fixing what is not broken' and make utf-8 characters like Japanese show in the database?

Anybody uses WMI? Whats the future?

I used WMI way back during the .net 2.0 days. I had to use it coz there was no alternative. But today as we have a lot of functionality in BCL, does it still makes sense to use WMI? Is it supported by MS - Should I use this in my production code?


One of the things I hate about it is that I need to write string query. It is prone to typo errors, no syntax check. I could convert it to

Is there a way to hook the mouse to detect what it's hovering over? Say I put my mouse over my uTorrent icon on the desktop. Is there a way to detect that and give me information pertaining to that icon/file ? Any help on this matter would be helpful. Thanks.

MVC Architecture. Whats in a model?
