C# Trying to get a list of questions from one class into my Main() class loop

this will help First of all, you assign to a variable result of method, which doesn't have return type! So it won't return anything, thus you cannot assign result of that method to variable.
But your intention is clearly to return List in that method, so you should write your method like this:
code :
static List<string> Questions()
{
    List<string> question = new List<string>();
    question.add("q1");
    question.add("q2");
    //etc
    return question;
}

wish of those help You capture the stdin, stdout and stderr inputs as one catch-all argument, but then try to refer to those names again in the __init__ function.
Just make them separate parameters:
code :
class read_log:
    def __init__(self, exit_status, stdin, stdout, stderr):
        self.exit_status = exit_status
        self.tuple_list = (stdin, stdout, stderr)
if exit_status:
    self.output = stderr.readlines()
else:
    self.output =  stdout.readlines()
    del self.output[0]
    del self.output[-1]
def __str__(self)
    return ''.join(self.output)
if exit_status:
    self.output = stderr.readlines()
else:
    self.output =  stdout.readlines()[1:-1]

fixed the issue. Will look into that further I have declared a global variable (int number) outside the main class:
code :
if (i == number){
    callButton[i].setBackground(Color.YELLOW);
}

Hope this helps As stated in the comments, what you want to do is Abstract the parent class. Thus allowing you to call children classes from it's parent.
As the comment suggested too, this question/answer has a range of examples of how you could achieve your task as you see below.
code :
abstract class a {

    function __construct() {
        $this->myFunction();
    }
}

class b extends a {

    function myFunction() {
         echo 'im from class b, sweet.';
    }

}
Class members are not declared, even when I put the class declaration above the main loop

I wish this helpful for you From the code I see the scope of slotOne variable is within Player::inventory() function and you are trying to access the variable slotOne within main function where in you don't have a variable by the name slotOne declared within its scope.
Again your code has multiple errors. The inventory function's written type is string but you are trying to return an int value instead your inventory function should either return int like below
code :
int Player::inventory()
{
    std::string slotOne = longsword;
    std::string slotTwo = longbow;
    return 0;
}

I wish this help you What you need here is create a constructor in testing class and pass in the object of List from the calling code.
Construct your class like:
code :
public class testing
{
   List<String> newList;

   public testing(List<string> input)
   {
       newList = input;
   }

}
static void Main(string[] args)
{
     List<String> list = new List<String>();
     list.Add("Test1");

     testing client = new testing(list);
}
