To fix the issue you can do Lets say I have a table like this, , you can do like this :
code :
$values = ['newvalue1','newvalue2','newvalue3'];
$ids = Area::where('area_id', 12)->pluck('id')->toArray();

foreach($ids as $index=>$id){
      Area::where('id',$id)->update(['area_values'=>$values[$index]);
}

like below fixes the issue It looks like you have some problems in your markup.
I think the output in your while-loop should look more like this:
code :
echo '
    <div>
        <label>Question</label>
        <textarea name="faq['. $val .'][q]" rows="8" cols="50"></textarea>
        <br />
        <label>Answer</label>
        <textarea name="faq['. $val .'][a]" rows="4" cols="50"></textarea>
    </div>
';
foreach ($_POST['faq'] as $id=>$faq) {
    $id = mysqli_real_escape_string($id);
    $question = mysqli_real_escape_string($faq['q']);
    $answer = mysqli_real_escape_string($faq['a']);

    $query = "
        INSERT INTO FAQ (id, question, answer) VALUES ('$id', '$question', '$answer')
        ON DUPLICATE KEY UPDATE question = '$question', answer = '$answer'
    ";
// $link is your DB connection handle, returned by mysqli_connect()
    $result = mysqli_query($link, $query) or die("Error in query: $query. " . mysqli_error($link));
    echo "$id has been added <br />";
}

I hope this helps you . I suggest you to assign and ContextMenu to your list view with two MenuItem, Edit and Delete and write associated code outside of adapter
or you can start Activity by :
code :
Intent new_intent = new Intent(v.getRootView().getContext(),edit_activity.class);
new_intent.putExtra("Key","Value");
v.getRootView().getContext().startActivity(new_intent);

wish helps you I see two ways: first one is to create 'batchUpdate' method - but it will not be the same for different database types. So I will describe second one, as it seems to be pretty simple.
code :
1. Remove all user relations:

    UserCpv::deleteAll(['user_id' => $userId]);

2. Create array for batchInsert method:

    $data = [];
    foreach($favorites as $cpv_id) {
        $data[] = ['cpv_id' => $cpv_id, 'user_id' => $userId];
    }

3. Batch insert your data

    Yii::$app->db->createCommand()->batchInsert(
        UserCpv::tableName(),
        ['cpv_id', 'user_id'],
        $data
    )->execute();
