this one helps. We have a firewall in place, of which we process the configuration with a PHP script and then make it available to look at on a website. , You need a (nested) call to preg_replace_callback() here:
code :
<?php

$regex = '~^\s*set comments\s\K"[^"]*"~m';

$data = preg_replace_callback($regex, function($match) {
    return preg_replace("~\R\s*~", " ", $match[0]);
},
$data);

echo $data;
?>
^ # match start of the line in multiline mode
\s* # zero or more whitespaces
set comments # set comments literally
\s            # whitespace
\K # "forget" what's been matched thus far
"[^"]*"       # anything between double quotes ("...")
return preg_replace("~\s+~", " ", $match[0]);

With these it helps How do I replace a specific piece of text in a textarea on a keyup event that gets the value of another input box and replaces the specific piece of text in the textarea? , store the string to replace in var:
code :
var lastStr = "[initial text]";

$("#test1").keyup(function() {
    var val = $("textarea").val();
    $("textarea").val(val.replace(lastStr, $("#test1").val()));
    lastStr = $("#test1").val(); // update last str to replace.
});
var lastStr = "[initial text]";
var startIndex = $("textarea").val().indexOf(lastStr);

$("#test1").keyup(function() {
    var oldVal = $("textarea").val();
    // get all the text before
    var firstPart = oldVal.substring(0, startIndex);
    // get the piece we want And replace it
    var midPart = oldVal.substr(startIndex, lastStr.length).replace(lastStr, $("#test1").val());
    // get all the text after
    var lastPart = oldVal.substring(startIndex + lastStr.length, oldVal.length);

    $("textarea").val( firstPart + midPart +lastPart );

around this issue This example assumes the text is entered in a string with carriage returns as line breaks.
code :
def search(string, query)
    string = string.split("\n");
    string.each do |line|
        if line.include?(query)
            return line
        end
    end
end
test_string = "Hello, I'm a test string. \n Did you know that Ruby is pretty cool? \n Of course I did!"
search(test_string, "Did you")
def search(string, query)
    string.split("\n").select{ |line| line.include?(query)}
end

Hope that helps As you said, you are already printing the line read from file, next you just need to split the line with the delimiter you have in file. Assuming you have comma as the delimiter, all you need to do is, split the line with comma and access the first element and store it in the List,
Here is the sample code,
code :
public static void main(String[] args) throws Exception {
    try(BufferedReader br = new BufferedReader(new FileReader("filename.txt"))) {
        String line = null;
        List<String> idList = new ArrayList<String>();

        while((line = br.readLine()) != null) {
            System.out.println(line); // you already printing it
            String[] tokens = line.split("\\s*,\\s*"); // assuming your line is like this --> 123, Pushpesh, Rajwanshi
            if (tokens.length > 0) {
                idList.add(tokens[0]); // ID will be accessed at zero index
            }
        }

        idList.forEach(System.out::println);
    }

}
List<String> idList = Files.lines(Paths.get("filename.txt")).filter(x -> x.trim().length() > 0)
        .map(x -> x.split("\\s*,\\s*")).map(x -> x[0]).collect(Collectors.toList());

idList.forEach(System.out::println);
