To fix this issue Use parent with this for particular td. I give two td 16 -- 17 on example.17 is shown but 16 remove.
code :
$('.CalendarDay').find('.CalendarDay__button').each(function() {
  if ($(this).text() == '16')
    $(this).parent('td').remove();
});
<script src="https://cdnjs.cloudflare.com/ajax/libs/jquery/3.3.1/jquery.min.js"></script>
<table>
  <tr>
    <td class="CalendarDay CalendarDay--valid" style="width: 37px; height: 36px;">

      <button type="button" class="CalendarDay__button">16</button>
    </td>
    <td class="CalendarDay CalendarDay--valid" style="width: 37px; height: 36px;">

      <button type="button" class="CalendarDay__button">17</button>
    </td>
  </tr>
</table>

This might help you :last-child only works when the element in question is the last child of the container, not the last of a specific type of element. For that, you want :last-of-type
http://jsfiddle.net/C23g6/3/
code :
body {
  background: black;
}

.comment {
  width: 470px;
  border-bottom: 1px dotted #f0f0f0;
  margin-bottom: 10px;
}

.comment:last-of-type {
  border-bottom: none;
  margin-bottom: 0;
}
<div class="commentList">
  <article class="comment " id="com21"></article>

  <article class="comment " id="com20"></article>

  <article class="comment " id="com19"></article>

  <div class="something"> hello </div>
</div>

like below fixes the issue You are very close! You want to add a directive to only grab direct descendants: ">"
code :
$('div.wrap').find('> p:not(.no):first').addClass('red');

like below fixes the issue Yes, you can absolutely do that. And if you use your exact code and fix a few errors, then you could see that it works:
code :
public Dog(double tail, string eyes) : base(eyes, 4)
{
    this.tailLength = tail;
    this.isDog = true;
}
List<Animal> animals = new List<Animal>();
var x = totalTailLength(sample.Where(d => d.isDog).Cast<IDog>());
IAnimal someAnimal = new Dog();
bool isADog = someAnimal is Dog; // true
var x = totalTailLength(sample.OfType<IDog>());

help you fix your problem If I am understanding your problem correctly you should be able to do something like this:
code :
var $e = $(e.currentTarget),
    $div = $e.closest('div.radio-button'),
    $container = $e.closest('.corp-struct');

    $div.toggleClass('checked-radio-button');

    $('div.radio-button.checked-radio-button', $container).not($div).removeClass('checked-radio-button');
var $e = $(e.currentTarget)
$div = $e.closest('div.radio-button')
$container = $e.closest('.corp-struct');
$div.toggleClass('checked-radio-button');
$('div.radio-button.checked-radio-button', $container).not($div).removeClass('checked-radio-button');
