seems to work fine I want to split below string , Looks like what you need is:
code :
String[] temp = line.split("\\|");
Map<String,String> attributes = new HashMap<String,String>();
for (String p : temp) {
    String[] key = p.split("\\=");
    if (key.length == 2) {
        attributes.put(key[0],key[1]);
    }
}

Hope this helps Java has built-in support; please see the HashMap class.
If you just want values stored, then perhaps a HashSet would be a better choice for when the key is the value.
