wish help you to fix your issue @ruddra's answer is great but instead of performing a custom lookup, you should use the existing get_object() method that already takes care of 404 and checks permissions(very important!)
code :
from rest_framework import status

# from rest_framework.decorators import action # for DRF 3.8
from rest_framework.decorators import detail_route # for DRF 3.7

@detail_route(methods=['put']) # use this for DRF 3.7
# @action(detail=True, methods=['put']) # use this for DRF 3.8 and above
def status(self, request, pk):
   obj = self.get_object()
   changed_status = obj.change_status()
   return Response({'success':True, "status_changed": changed_status},status=status.HTTP_200_OK)

should help you out I've use C++ custom action DLLs, so I'm not entirely sure how a C# custom action DLL differs. However, I usually use the method Ondrej mentioned: logging to the MSI log file and/or message boxes that pause the custom action execution so I can attach to the process via Visual Studio.
Are you familiar with how that is done?

To fix the issue you can do Two possibilities here....
1) Since you say it's MyFile.cfg I'll assume it's not .INI or .XML format. In that case, use the InstallShield Text Files Changes view to author a search and replace on the files. The InstallShield custom actions support UAC and Rollback so you'll be good to go there. You will probably need a very simple InstallScript custom action to read the OriginalDatabase property, parse out the part you care about and assign it to another property. Then use that property in the Text Files Changes view.

How to Dynamically Create and Expose a New REST Endpoint In Code (on the fly) for a Custom Loopback Model

wish helps you We're developing a SaaS accounting product that uses the Loopback REST framework and allows authenticated end users to create new tables in their own database instance (MySQL or PostgreSQL). , Here's the solution we ended up with:
// server\boot.js
code :
var ds = app.datasources['mysql'];
ds.createModel('transactiontype', {
    rowid: {
        type: Number,
        id: true
    },
    transactiontypeid: String,
    description: String,
    active: Number
});
let model = ds.getModel('transactiontype');
app.model(model, { public: true });

With these it helps @Endpoint annotation mark a class as a SOAP endpoint, which will handle through its methods SOAP requests. Whereas @RestController, according to it javadoc, is "a convenience annotation that is itself annotated with @Controller and @ResponseBody", that is a very convenient mechanism to create REST services. So you can not use @Endpoint waiting for it to behave like @RestController.

Hope that helps If the hook is called within the class if-self and yout callback method is defined there:
code :
add_action( 'rest_api_init', function () {
    register_rest_route( 't2mchat/v2', '/get_curr_user_lang', array(
        'methods' => 'GET',
        'callback' => array($this,'get_user_lang')
    ));
});
add_action( 'rest_api_init', function () {
    register_rest_route( 't2mchat/v2', '/get_curr_user_lang', array(
        'methods' => 'GET',
        'callback' => array('className','get_user_lang')
    ));
});
