How do I import a .csv file with a column of coordinates for polygons to a geodataframe?

this one helps. As mentioned by DatHydroGuy the trick was to use Well Know Text(WKT) format. The following code sorted the problem:
code :
from shapely import wkt
df['geometry'] = df['geometry'].apply(wkt.loads)
df1 = gpd.GeoDataFrame(df, geometry = 'geometry')

wish helps you points.geometry is an object, but you're trying to loop through it like an array. To access the coordinates, use:
code :
var coordinates = data.features[y].geometry.coordinates;

may help you . I think I figured it out. In my previous code, polygon.get_facecolor() returns a list of RGBA values ranging from 0-1. I added this function (modified from this post):
code :
def convert_to_hex(rgba_color) :
    red = str(hex(int(rgba_color[0]*255)))[2:].capitalize()
    green = str(hex(int(rgba_color[1]*255)))[2:].capitalize()
    blue = str(hex(int(rgba_color[2]*255)))[2:].capitalize()

    if blue=='0':
        blue = '00'
    if red=='0':
        red = '00'
    if green=='0':
        green='00'

    return '#'+ red + green + blue
gdf['RGBA'] = convert_to_hex(colors)
maploc = folium.Map(location=[42.377157,-71.236088],zoom_start=10,tiles="Stamen Toner")

colors = []
folium.GeoJson(
    gdf,
    style_function=lambda feature: {
        'fillColor': feature['properties']['RGBA'],
        'color' : feature['properties']['RGBA'],
        'weight' : 1,
        'fillOpacity' : 0.5,
        }
    ).add_to(maploc)

it should still fix some issue So I may have found a solution...
I installed the Geospatial Data Abstraction Library and have been using the ogr2ogr function.
code :
with open('/Users/Me/Documents/mydata.json', 'w') as f:
    f.write(gdf.to_json())
ogr2ogr -f KML /Users/Me/Documents/mydata.kml /Users/Me/Documents/mydata.json
import subprocess
subprocess.call("ogr2ogr -f KML /Users/Me/Documents/mydata.kml /Users/Me/Documents/mydata.json",shell=True)

hop of those help? I think you are confused about what .split(",") does, it will split by the character in the argument:
code :
>>> "ggg".split(",") #no commas to split by.
['ggg']
>>> "g,g,g".split(",") #works when it is seperated by commas
['g', 'g', 'g']
with open('tilemap.txt') as input:
    tilemap = [list(line.strip()) for line in input]
