C++ - Two Basic Questions

Any of those help If you're a complete beginner to programming, I have no idea of what book could get you started with C++ -- I'd recommend just about any other language as simpler for somebody who's never programmed before.
If you're a reasonably experienced programmer at some other language, just a beginner at C++, I'd start with Eckel's Thinking in C++ -- it has the big advantage of being freely available online, so you can at least get started with it (if you decide to buy the paper+CDROM edition, which is IMHO advisable if you have the money and like the book, it will be done with fully open eyes and not just a "gamble" of many of your $$$ on somebody else's opinion;-). Once you're done with both volumes of Eckel and the exercises, you will know enough C++ to pick and choose the high-intermediate, to advanced, to expert, books and projects you desire to continue your study.

hop of those help? Question 1
You need to separate the PHP code and the HTML output. The easiest thing to do, as a newbie, is :
code :

<table>
   <?php foreach ($tab as $line) : ?>
      <tr>
         <?php foreach ($line as $cell) : ?>
           <td><?php echo $cell ?></td>
         <?php endforeach; ?>
      </tr>
    <?PHP endforeach; ?>
</table>
if ($my_bool)
    echo "True";
else
   echo "False";
echo  $my_bool ? "True"  : "False" ;

Hope this helps 1) int r = random(Y - X) + X;
2) Integers can't be null in either C or Java. In C only pointers can be null, represented by pointing them to zero. However, I suggest you don't get into the whole pointer mess before getting the basics down.

help you fix your problem console.log( object ) is for the developer, usually for debugging, just in the console. It can include interactive object structures.
alert( string ) is a pop-up message for the user, formated as raw text. If you feed it an object, it will output '[object Object]'.
code :
console.log( "*****\r\n".repeat( 5 ) );
