it should still fix some issue Im using opensource library called wxFreeChart to draw some XY charts. In example there is code which uses static array as a serie : , If You define an array like

I think the issue was by ths following , You probably need to convert the text strings to numbers. You would use the parseFloat function for that:

it helps some times Your two definitions of masterbuf may both create 2D arrays, but they don't do so in the same way. The function arralloc() creates space for data and pointers--not just data as with the simple static array definition. What this works out to mean is that in pgmwrite(), while x[i][j] will return the same result regardless of the method used, x[i] will mean two different things because of the pointer involvement.
It's worth noting that you'll be given a clue by the compiler as to the problem should you change void *vx in the prototype to float *vx. Since you're immediately and unconditionally casting this void * to a float *, it'd be much better practice to do this anyhow.

seems to work fine I'm a beginer. I'm confused about the difference between them. I have read a few answers and realized one of the difference is that the dynamic array can be deleted while the normal array can't. But are there any other differences? Such as their functions, sizes or whatsoever? ,
