it helps some times I use libjpeg for lossless operations. It contains a command-line tool jpegtran that can do all you want. With the commandline option -copy none all the metadata is stripped, and -optimize does a lossless optimization of the Huffmann compression. You can also convert the images to progressive mode with -progressive, but that might cause compatibility problems (does anyone know more about that?)
are there any Query Optimization Tools for SQL Server?

are there any Query Optimization Tools for SQL Server?

Does that help The best tool I've ever used for optimizing queries in MS SQL Server, by far, is the "Include Actual Execution Plan" option in Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio. It displays detailed information about the execution path taken by the server when running your query. (Note that this works best when there's data in the tables. Of course, without a good bit of test data, any optimization is purely theoretical anyway.)
It basically gives you three very important things:

I wish this help you To determine cache misses you'll want a CPU-level profiler, like oprofile or vtune, or a dynamic instrumentation tool, like valgrind with cachegrind.
To look for alignment issues on structures, there is a tool called pahole for object files with DWARF debugging information.

this one helps. I'm not familiar with tools specifically for analyzing the ViewState of different elements on an asp.net page.
I almost never save ViewState of table elements like DataGrid or GridView, since these element have HUGE ViewState objects that aren't neede most of the time. You need to think logically which element's state you need to save for the user.

it helps some times If you want a brain dump, you can print the resulting assembly code, but this is much lower level than what you have already. I suspect what you are looking for doesn't exist for the HotSpot JVM. I saw a presentation for something like this based on JRockit and perhaps this will make it into HotSpot one day.
