mod_wsgi excessively slow at startup?

wish of those help It shouldn't take that long even if you used a suboptimal configuration of using embedded mode and Apache prefork MPM. Although, you could make things worse if you had MaxRequestsPerChild set to 1 for Apache processes.
Suggestions are, make sure you are using mod_wsgi daemon mode and run with a single multithreaded process (the default settings for WSGIDaemonProcess). This will ensure at least that there is only one instance of Django and not potentially one per Apache server process.

Mongodb query excessively slow

this one helps. I have a collection of tweets, with indexes on userid and tweeted_at (date). I want to find the dates of the oldest and newest tweets in the collection for a user, but the query runs very slowly. , By looking at the cursor field you can see which index was used:
code :
"cursor" : "BtreeCursor tweeted_at_1 reverse",
db.tweets.ensureIndex({userid: 1, tweeted_at: -1});

msysgit 'submodule update' is excessively slow in windows 7

I wish did fix the issue. The culprit was McAfee virus scanner. Only took me 2.5 years to figure it out. In troubleshooting a different issue, our IT team removed it entirely (I'm amazed they actually did this) and I took the opportunity to test this out. Submodule updates are 4x faster and compiling is 2x faster.

like below fixes the issue You might want to check where the time is spent.
There a lot of tools that allow you to capture what a certain process is doing, I name just two of them:

Matplotlib plot excessively slow

help you fix your problem There is no reason whatsoever to have a line plot of 20000000 points in matplotlib.
Let's consider printing first: The maximum figure size in matplotlib is 50 inch. Even having a high-tech plotter with 3600 dpi would give a maximum number of 50*3600 = 180000 points which are resolvable.

Eclipse Luna excessively slow

Hope that helps To answer your non-question, yes, my Eclipse Luna is also extremely slow.
But that is probably due to the Scala plugin (I edit Scala sources). After typing every 3-5 letters, it locks up for 5 to 10 seconds "Updating occurrence annotations". It seems that the thread dependencies are wrong. The GUI editor locks up waiting for background analysis. The solution would be to switch off all kinds of context hints and code completion. I have not yet found a configuration that makes it useable.
