Correct way to (re)launch a Java application with hardware-dependent VM parameters?

I hope this helps . Are you sure you want to do this? In general, Java application need a certain amount of memory, not more, not less.
If you have a machine with little memory and you specify a small number at -Xmx you risk to run out of memory.

How to launch a dependent application on OS X?

wish of those help There's no standard way to specify a dependent app. So, you need to somehow watch the system. You don't have to actively poll; you need to use some system mechanism to tell you.
To watch for a GUI app to launch, you need to write a background app, get the NSWorkspace's notification center by
code :
NSNotificationCenter* nc=[[NSWorkspace sharedWorkspace] notificationCenter];

How can I debug a seemingly hardware-dependent issue with my Android app without access to the hardware?

this will help We'd need to know more about the nature of the problem. Is it a crash? Something doesn't look right? Etc.
If it's a crash, you could add a crash handler (Thread.setUncaughtExceptionHandler, IIRC) and have that create a better-formatted log that can optionally be sent to you.

Why an Operating System(OS) is called as hardware dependent/platform dependent

I wish did fix the issue. In general, the following things are hardware dependent:
System startup/reset Interrupt handling Virtual memory management & protection Device I/O System-level protections for code access and security Some mutual exclusion primitives.

Launch a java application with parameters from Windows cmd?

it fixes the issue so looks like you are able to read the parameters but you are getting a FileNotFoundException. The way that you are reading the file, the exercice4.txt should be present in your src folder, other wise your current code will not be able to read it. either pass the full path of the file or update your code

Is a sync always required when a CUDA kernel's launch parameters are dependent on a prior kernel?

hop of those help? Instead of varying the number of blocks in the second kernel, you could use a fixed block count and have the blocks adapt the amount of work they do.
E.g. launch a larger number of blocks, and have them exit early if no work remains. Or launch just enough blocks to fill the device, and have each block loop over the work to to. Grid-stride loops are a good way of doing this.
