To fix the issue you can do By making a couple changes to the example code here, I came up with this
code :
class Shape
  constructor: () ->

  type: () ->
    console.log @constructor.name

class Square extends Shape

class Circle extends Shape

sq = new Square
ci = new Circle

sq.type() // Square
ci.type() // Circle
console.log @constructor.__super__.constructor.name
function Square() {
    _ref = Square.__super__.constructor.apply(this, arguments);
    return _ref;

To fix the issue you can do Don't do that.
Instead, add a marker classname to a common ancestor element, then use a CSS rule:
code :
.SomeClassName .tag {
    clear: both;

How to use base class methods in a subclass of a Builtin JavaScript class in javascript

I wish did fix the issue. In c# for example I can extend a framework type and assign an expression to my type and it will retain all the members of the base type but also have my extended methods. , You are not subclassing properly. You should use ES6 classes.
code :
var WebPageReader = {
  Dom: function() {
    this.GetSelectedRange = function() {
      if (!window.getSelection) return null;
      return window.getSelection().getRangeAt(0);
  Sentence: class extends Range {
    constructor(range) {
      this.setStart(range.startContainer, range.startOffset);
      this.setEnd(range.endContainer, range.endOffset);
document.body.addEventListener('click', function() {
  var dom = new WebPageReader.Dom();
  var s = new WebPageReader.Sentence(dom.GetSelectedRange());
