Large JSF dataTable backed by database that can handle paging/sorting

I hope this helps . Check out richfaces datatable datatable with table filtering and table sorting Or the extended datatable
But, yes I forgot one small note :), If you need to go to the database and handle your filtering/sorting on db level you will need to provide your own implementation of DataModel by extending the org.ajax4jsf.model.SerializableDataModel.

JSF datatable with paging and sorting and browser-back

will help you I ran into this as well, and I developed a coding pattern that might help. It isn't really a PrimeFaces thing (which I am using as well) -- more of a technique for using book-markable links with JSF 2.
In the markup, I include all the parameters for the page as follows:
code :
        <f:metadata>
            <f:viewParam name="orderID" value="#{bean.orderID}" />
            <f:viewParam name="sortMode" value="#{bean.sortMode}" />
            <f:viewParam name="firstRecord" value="#{bean.firstRecord}" />
            <f:viewParam name="pageSize" value="#{bean.pageSize}" />
        </f:metadata>
public int getPageSize() {
    if (pageSize < MIN_PAGE_SIZE) pageSize = DEF_PAGE_SIZE;
    if (pageSize > MAX_PAGE_SIZE) pageSize = DEF_PAGE_SIZE;
    return pageSize;
}
<p:spinner value=#{bean.pageSize} >
    <p:ajax update="tableID" />
</p:spinner>
 <h:link  value="First Page" outcome="thisPage">
         <f:param name="orderID" value="#{bean.orderID}" />
         <f:param name="sortMode" value="#{bean.sortMode}" />
         <f:param name="firstRecord" value="0" />
         <f:param name="pageSize" value="#{bean.pageSize}" />
 </h:link>
 <h:link  value="Next Page" outcome="thisPage">
         <f:param name="orderID" value="#{bean.orderID}" />
         <f:param name="sortMode" value="#{bean.sortMode}" />
         <f:param name="firstRecord" value="#{bean.nextRecord}" />
         <f:param name="pageSize" value="#{bean.pageSize}" />
 </h:link>

Reset PrimeFaces DataTable state (filter, sorting, paging)

it fixes the issue Finally, I found the solution, hidden in this sample http://www.primefaces.org/showcase/ui/data/datatable/columns.xhtml on tab ColumnsView.java:
code :
table.setValueExpression("sortBy", null);

Datatable show/hide sorting/paging

will be helpful for those in need From the description of the retrieve option (emphasis mine):
code :
$(window).resize(function() {
    var isLarge = $(this).width() > 700;
    $('#transactionsTable').dataTable({
        destroy: true,
        searching: isLarge,
        paging: isLarge
    });
});

Unable to get the id of the panel in a datatable with paging and sorting

will help you I suspect that $('.panel-wrapper') for the later pages get constructed and appended to DOM once you navigate to page and hence it forms dynamic content and you need to use event delegation to manipulate dynamic contents as below:
code :
$(document).on('show.bs.collapse','.panel-wrapper', function () {
       var pnlId = $(this).attr('id');
       alert(pnlId.id + ' expanded');
});
$('#yourtableid').bootstrapTable({
}).on('page-change.bs.table', function (e, size, number) {
         //collapse the panel here
})

Searching, sorting and paging not working for datatable laravel

By : Dalton Serey

I hope this helps . So I'm trying to use the datatable as seen in my code written below. Unfortunately for some unknown reasons the functions for sorting, searching and paging does not work. May I know what did I missed out or the reason for it not working? , try this:
code :
<table class="table table-hover" id="logTable">
    <thead>
    <tr>
        <th>
            User
        </th>

        <th>
            Log Description
        </th>
        <th>
            Time Stamp
        </th>
    </tr>
    </thead>

    <tbody>
        @foreach ($logs as $log)
        <tr>
            <td>
                {{ App\User::find($log->user_id)->name }}
            </td>

            <td>
                {{ $log->log_description }}
            </td>
            <td>
                {{ date("F d Y - g:i a",strtotime("$log->created_at")) }}
            </td>
        </tr>
        @endforeach
    </tbody>
</table>
