I hope this helps you . I'm sorry; your error message contains two clues (line 7, ::bar) that the code you've pasted is not enough to diagnose your problem. There's just not enough information to understand your problem.
Apart from that, you have a mismatched closing parenthesis in the last line of the code you did post, and you haven't declared the .

it helps some times http://rakudo.org/status shows a list of things, but it's hard to keep it up-to-date. The biggest things are probably threading, async IO (both due to Parrot lacking them). Some things are quite there, but have bugs (like traits).

around this issue I'm not aware of a direct method, but parsing qx/resize/ should work on systems where the resize command is available.
Update: somewhat golfed parsing code:
code :
my %h = qx/resize/.lines.grep(/\=/).map: { m/(\w+) \= (\d+) /; $/.list };
my ($y, $x) =  %h<LINES COLUMNS>;

I wish did fix the issue. Rakudo enables autoflush by default; the specification is silent about the default.

I wish this helpful for you $*OUT.autoflush = False should disable it, and it runs without error, but it seems that parrot's IO still flushes automatically. So there currently doesn't seem to be an easy way.
How do I read from STDIN in Rakudo Perl6?

How do I read from STDIN in Rakudo Perl6?

like below fixes the issue The standard input file descriptor in Perl6 is $*IN (in Perl5 the *STDIN typeglob had a reference to the STDIN file descriptor as *STDIN{IO}).
One way of reading from standard input is the following:
code :
for lines() {
    say "Read: ", $_
for $*IN.lines() -> $line {
    say "Read: ", $line
