Simplifying my program to convert numbers to from one base to another

Simplifying my program to convert numbers to from one base to another

To fix this issue I'm taking a beginner C++ course. I received an assignment telling me to write a program that converts an arbitrary number from any base between binary and hex to another base between binary and hex. I was asked to use separate functions to convert to and from base 10. It was to help us get used to using arrays. (We already covered passing by reference previously in class.) I already turned this in, but I'm pretty sure this wasn't how I was meant to do it: , I don't think you need the inner loop:

it should still fix some issue If the base 16 value is a constant or stored in a variable a simple cast will work.
code :
long long llint1 = (long long int)0x5d0cfa30041d4348;
long long llint2 = (long long int)0x024025978b5e50d2;
long long llint3 = (long long int)0xfb115bd6d34a8e9f;

NSLog(@"\n%lld\n%lld\n%lld", llint1, llint2, llint3);
unsigned long long tmp;
NSScanner *nscanner = [NSScanner scannerWithString:@"0x5d0cfa30041d4348"];
[nscanner scanHexLongLong:&tmp];

llint1 = (long long int)tmp;

nscanner = [NSScanner scannerWithString:@"0x024025978b5e50d2"];
[nscanner scanHexLongLong:&tmp];

llint2 = (long long int)tmp;

nscanner = [NSScanner scannerWithString:@"0xfb115bd6d34a8e9f"];
[nscanner scanHexLongLong:&tmp];

llint3 = (long long int)tmp;

NSLog(@"\n%lld\n%lld\n%lld", llint1, llint2, llint3);

wish help you to fix your issue You can't just call int('2+2') and get 4; the int() function only converts numbers to integers, but doesn't do arithmetic.
To do this, you need to parse the string into a parse tree and do the arithmetic on that. It might be easier to keep track of the input in the form of a tree, rather than a string that you need to turn back into a tree.

wish help you to fix your issue r = i % bs;finds remainder (which can make sure it is within 0 to 6); q = i / bs; finds how many "7" needs for tenth value. num = q * 10 + r; is to calculate the value in base 7 . this function maybe work until term 489th. if you want to do extra, you may check the ,
code :
if(i > 489)
{
    y = i / (bs*bs);
    num = y*100 + q*10 + r;
}

wish help you to fix your issue For instance, how to convert the number '10010000110000011000011111011000' in Base2 to number in Base4 ? , A one-liner approach:
code :
> paste(as.numeric(factor(substring(a,seq(1,nchar(a),2),seq(2,nchar(a),2))))-1,collapse="")
