it fixes the issue The most secure way (assuming Windows clients and a supported database server) is to use integrated authentication, and avoid distributing passwords with connection strings at all.

I think the issue was by ths following , You're referencing connectionStringName="LocalSqlServer" which doesn't exist. The two connection strings you have registered are ApplicationServices and ConnectionString.
Rename your second connection string entry to:
code :
<add name="LocalSqlServer" ...

I hope this helps . Besides the machine.config, you can create common appSettings files. You won't need to develop anything new, just place your shared settings on this file and reference it on your specific config files.
Hope this helps.
code :
<connectionStrings configSource="ConnectionStrings.config" />
<appSettings file="FileService.config">
...
</appSettings>

I wish this help you From comments I see you are trying to read the connection string as a Setting, but it isn't.
Add a project reference to System.Configuration. Then get the string with:
code :
var connectionString = ConfigurationManager.ConnectionStrings["std_8_science.Properties.Settings.science8ConnectionString"].ConnectionString;

To fix this issue Having BitDefender installed locally restricted traffic and the 500's when using IIS. You can white-list ports though this needs to be done through requests to BitDefender or get a decent AV where you can do this yourself.

will be helpful for those in need This is by design. The password is removed to protect you. If you really want to keep the password there you can add the following to your connection string: Persist Security Info=True;
So then your connection string should look something like this:
