wish of those help I can't see why your example wouldn't work.
Are you 100% sure you have a textarea with the ID ba inside an element with the ID abc? Remember, name attributes don't count. Maybe you have a duplicate id in one of the elements? Also, remember that you can assign multiple classes, but not multiple IDs like id='abc def'.

it helps some times As I recall, that'd be $("div :not(.no)");
Also, that should be class="yes" and class="no"

Any of those help This does not work because is not contained with in any element with the class views-admin-links. (You open the div and then immediately close it, so it has no children.)

To fix this issue .menu a:hover is more specific than .tab:hover, so it appears lower down the cascade order.
a.tab:hover is as specific as .menu a:hover, so the rules in those two rule-sets are applied in source order.

may help you . If I have a selector like , Yes, the space makes a difference:

fixed the issue. Will look into that further To make such a selection you first want to select all .wanted elements and then use :not to deselect all .wanted elements with a parent .aaa:
