may help you . Native (AKA standard) C++ has no real concept of multiple processes, and has no means of catching exceptions thrown across process boundaries. And no means of throwing exceptions across such boundaries, come to that.

catch another process unhandled exception

it helps some times If you are calling to a .Net executable assembly you can load it and (at your own risk :D ) call to the Main method of the Program class into a try_catch statement:
code :
Assembly assembly = Assembly.LoadFrom("ErroneusApp.exe");
Type[] types= assembly.GetTypes();
foreach (Type t in types)
{
 MethodInfo method = t.GetMethod("Main",
     BindingFlags.Static | BindingFlags.NonPublic);
 if (method != null)
 {
    try
    {
        method.Invoke(null, null);
    }
    catch (Exception ex)
    {
        Console.WriteLine(ex.Message);
    }
    break;
 }
}

help you fix your problem Assuming that the other executable is a .NET application, load it into a new AppDomain and run it there. When the target executable throws an exception, you get AppDomain.FirstChanceException Event.

will be helpful for those in need Adding to what CodingFeles has said:
Should probably point out that this was a stupid mistake caused by nothing less than 10 hours of programming till 9am.... Ie. I was braindead at this point and introduced the error without realizing it:
code :
request.Credentials = new NetworkCredential("user", "pass");

will be helpful for those in need Turns out the problem was that the "Remote Registry" service was not running on the target computer!
This explains why whacking the firewall had no effect. to everyone who offered assistance.
