Where can I find a list of all the possible Java compile time errors?

I wish this helpful for you Well I don't think you'll find anything definite about this. But compiler messages may be internationalized in which case they must be translated, which means that generally there should be only a handful files containing all the error messages.
So this should be useful I think. Seems like you should have a closer look at the compiler.properties file in the javac source - not perfect obviously but alas I don't think you'll get anything better.
code :
# 0: symbol, 1: string, 2: string
compiler.err.cant.inherit.diff.arg=\
    {0} cannot be inherited with different arguments: <{1}> and <{2}>

compiler.err.catch.without.try=\
    ''catch'' without ''try''

# 0: symbol kind, 1: symbol
compiler.err.clash.with.pkg.of.same.name=\
    {0} {1} clashes with package of same name

I wish did fix the issue. You can create a filter for this in the Action Items Window: Action Items Filter -> New (check compile errors) Set scope of Action Items to "all opened projects"

like below fixes the issue What is the type B? Did you mean Int?
To get the first element you can use head. To get the rest of the list you can use tail. The dot operator in Scala is optional.
code :
  def func = {
    val temp = x.head
    x = x.tail
    temp
  }

Can certain compile errors be suppressed in the Error List Dialog?

With these it helps I've found the best way to work with existing the visual studio behavior is to use the advice in this link: and make the compiler stop after the first compile error.
This seems to get as close to solving my problem as you currently can.
